Questionable food handling practices!
On Monday, my mother, daughter, and I visited Euro CafĂ© for the first timeâand unfortunately, it will be our last. We ordered two sandwiches, a salad, a hot chocolate, a latte, and a cappuccino. After placing our order, we received a number, found a table, and soon after, the drinks started arriving: a hot chocolate, an iced latte, and a cappuccino.
I was surprised by the iced latte, thinking maybe I had accidentally ordered the wrong drink. But we soon realized there had been a mix-upâanother party behind us had been rung up with the same order number. On top of that, my mother received that patronâs Nutella cappuccino instead of her regular cappuccino.
The cashier/waitress, Maricela, noticed the mistake and saw that my mom hadnât sipped the drink, although she had bitten the small cookie that came with it. I overheard Maricela say to the barista, âOh good, she hasnât touched it,â and then she came to retrieve the cappuccino. She told us she would bring the correct one out.
As she came back to clean the table next to us, I asked if she had just thrown out the incorrect Nutella cappuccino. She replied, âOh no, of course not. She didnât touch it.â I was stunned. I asked againââBut it was at our table, and she ate the cookie. Are you really planning to serve it to someone else?â She seemed to realize sheâd been caught and quickly added, âOh no, weâll make them a new one.â
But letâs be honestâshe only said that after being questioned. Her initial intention seemed clear.
As someone who has worked as a waitress, I know that basic decency and proper food handling call for acknowledging the mistake and offering the incorrect drink to the customer who received it, while ensuring the correct order is made fresh. Thatâs just common courtesyâand sanitation.
The entire experience left a bad impression. If a staff member is willing to re-serve a drink that was already brought to another table, what other corners might be cut behind the scenes? It made us question the hygiene and food safety standards of the entire...
Read moreI have been to euro multiple times. This location and the people who manage have really upset me. You can see my detailed review on Yelp posted on June 17. Long story short- I received poor treatment and management at Euro made it worse. The owner reached out to me on Yelp and offered to give me a refund on the disastrous crepe that I waited over 45 mins for and a free meal. I am not a leech so I declined the free meal but hey itâs fair to accept a refund for a gross-looking, mediocre tasting crepe. Please note that I never asked for a refund, business owner SAM R. OFFERED! Guess what folks? Itâs been 1 month and 1 day and he still hasnât given me the refund that HE offered. I feel incredibly disrespected even though I was cordial in person and over Yelp. I kept checking on the status of the refund and he said he didnât know why the bank hadnât processed the supposed refund. He offered to give me the refund over Zelle, I promptly gave him the information and itâs now July 18 and I havenât received a thing.
Why offer a refund and continue this disastrous experience? He said to keep in mind this is a new location and new staff but honestly, I wasnât expecting this treatment from the management level. Terrible customer service - donât offer a refund if you have no intention on keeping your word!! What a shame that this is a beautiful location but I will NEVER give them my business again and my friends and family will know about this terrible experience as well. AND HONESTLY - I got 2 breakfast sandwiches, 1 sweet crepe, 1 overly sweet coffee for over $60 plus terrible service? Yeah not worth this over priced and mediocre food. I rather spend my money elsewhere- in a place where they respect...
Read moreIf you have not had the pleasure of eating at Euro Caffe yet in the Orange Circle, you are missing out on some of the best food and service around. Ever since they opened up, coming here has become practically a tradition for me and my family - even my toddler wakes up on Sundays saying he wants to go to "Yoo-Ro Cafee." Their Nutella Latte is positively addicting, as is the Lavender Latte, and the savory flavors in the Le Champignon crepe (also comes in panini variety) keep me coming back week after week. Belgian Waffle is to die for and pretty much everything can be modified however you want. Avocado toast with eggs and also the salmon toast are A+, salmon is nice and fresh, and the bread is from heaven. Seriously good quality food, always fresh fruit, and rich green fresh avocado mash. I even had a glass of wine here and it was perfect. I just have no complaints and they always make sure you are taken care of. The environment is top-notch, like stepping into a bright clean breakfast or lunch restaurant in Vienna, elegant decorations, clean bathrooms with quality touches, clean and beautiful emerald green couch like benches, lovely ironwork chairs, solid and beautiful tables, and beautiful atmospheric music to match. Love the service - the staff are always welcoming and eager to help. Don't think about it - go here and eat. These people deserve your money. And speaking of which, given the inflation and economy, I've found that relative to many other places on the circle, Euro Caffe remains quite affordable - and you get quality for the money. After eating here week after week for a long time, I am finally leaving this positive review. ...
