I was here about a week ago with my boyfriend. We both just got off of work and we wanted to spend time with each other for a bit before calling it a day. We haven't seen each other for a while and we had to turn in early before heading to work for a midnight shift.
We felt like having pasta that day and made the decision to go to this restaurant. We came just before the dinner rush hit, so we were seated very quickly. The food was great for what it was; we ordered a few alcoholic drinks with our meals, and had a great time together.
What made our experience sour was the server, Roger D, who took processed our order on 5/02/19 @1731, Table 74. Our experience stood out enough for me to keep the receipt to make this review when I had time.
I am a very slow eater, while my boyfriend loves to inhale his food. I was still working on my food when the server asked me if I wanted a box or if I needed more time to eat, while he saw me shoving food in my mouth. He waited for my answer in spite of him staring at me working on my plate still. I didn't answer right away and made a confused face at him because I was clearly in the middle of eating with no intention of asking him to wrap up my plate. I felt like he was pressuring me, so I just said to give me one.
He kept checking on us a few more times in a span of 10 minutes, and I just took it as a sign that he wanted us to leave. I told me bf that I guess it was best to just finish my meal at home since apparently our server doesn't want us dining in anymore.
We split the check and I reluctantly tipped him before going home extremely dissatisfied with our experience.
Out of all of the restaurants I've been to, I've never once felt that sort of pressure to leave. When we got to the entrance, we knew the dinner rush hit and I figured he wanted us pushed out so more people can come in.
I am very disappointed and got very offended with how he treated us. I've experienced all types of servers, but none of them compared to this one. I love to give people second chances, but this guy just rubbed me the wrong way.
If I ever come back because the food was pretty good, I'll be sure to request that I don't get...
Read moreIt's best to go places with gift cards. I've been to this Olive Garden three times this year. All three times were great. Two times at lunch and one time at dinner. The servers were excellent.
The first time , for lunch, my brother and I both got the Shrimp Alfredo the server threw in endless soups (with the endless salad and breadsticks) for us for free. We left stuffed. I counted the shrimps and I was given 15 shrimps. Shrimps were cooked well. We were seated on the south side at a table, by the window. It seemed a bit warm there, but ok. The server was attentive.
The second time, we got a booth at the north side of the building, a bit quieter and the booth was a good size for the two of us. We went for lunch again. We ordered the Dipping Sauce with Breadsticks and Ravioli Carbonara, and endless soup and salad. The dipping sauces were pretty good. I dipped my ravioli in the cheesy dipping sauce and it gave the ravioli a little more flavor.
The house salad is good. I don't eat much salad as much as I used to and the olives and goat cheese help bring out flavor to the salad.
The third time, I took a friend for dinner. He got there first and preordered a Shrimp Fritto Misto. By the time I got there, it was only warm, but it still tasted fine. Dipping sauces helped, but it was ok without too. I ordered a create you own pasta, nothing special, but my friend recommend the 3 Meatballs. Those had good flavor and were filling. The rest of the dish was ok. They skimped on the meat sauce, but I didn't want to ask for more.
You are able to take home freshly made breadsticks if you ask for them. If you do, follow the instructions on the bag to reheate.
By the way, soda water is no extra charge.
I ended up using all my gift cards with those three meals and enjoyed each meal.
Worth going to. My friend said that the Irvine Olive Garden is better, but I can't judge since I...
Read moreFirst let me say Michael is the best server there (Latino guy on duty around 11:am on weekdays). That dude is on point. He should be running that place and teaching the servers how to serve. This review is separate from him.
Today I'm posting because I don't understand this place. Eighty percent of the time I'll hit this place at 11:am sharp on my lunch break. No matter if the place is busy or dead there seems to be a 5 min holding time the hosts are pre-programed to tell you. Today I walked up to the host. Said hello, for 1 please, I'm going to use the mens room (knowing there is going to be a 5 min holding) be right back. My return from the bathroom the host says "What's your name?" I say William, thank you it will be about 5 mins. Chuckle to myself because it's always 5 mins. Within 30 seconds someone grabs me and says follow me. They take me to the large dinner room in the back. There's not one customer in this room. I'm thinking score whoever has this room is probably waiting for a customer.Time passes and I'm watching server after server walk in and out of the bar wondering, are they my server? To make a long story short ended up walking out after 10 mins. I know 10 mins isn't a lot of time but I'm on my lunch, my work isn't going to care if the servers at Olive Garden were none responsive. Ended up eating down the street and will probably not be back to this location...
