My family and I had an extremely disappointing dining experience at Tandoor Cuisine of India on Katella in Orange this evening around 6:15 PM. Despite being seated quickly with our party of four, which included a one-year-old, we endured an inexcusable wait of over an hour without receiving any food. Ultimately, we were forced to leave the restaurant hungry and seek dinner elsewhere.
Throughout this prolonged delay, we repeatedly inquired about our order. The staff's consistent explanation was a party being held in their reception hall, a poor excuse for neglecting the patrons in their main dining area. This lack of consideration for their regular customers was astounding.
Adding to our negative impression, the restaurant's physical condition was subpar. The uninviting entrance, cluttered with boxes, and the general rundown and unclean appearance did not create a welcoming atmosphere.
It was clear that the poor service was not isolated to our table. We observed other diners experiencing similar lengthy delays, including a family who had been there before us and only received their food as we were finally leaving in frustration.
The complete lack of communication, updates, or any attempt to accommodate us during this extended wait was appalling. We were offered nothing to mitigate the situation, demonstrating a fundamental failure in basic customer service. Arriving hungry after work with my family, including a young child, and being subjected to such neglect was incredibly frustrating and left us feeling utterly disregarded.
Tandoor Cuisine of India in Orange provided a truly unacceptable dining experience characterized by an excessive wait, poor communication, and a lack of basic customer service. I strongly urge anyone considering this restaurant to think twice, as our experience was nothing short of a complete waste of time and left us with a very negative impression. We will not...
Read moreThe food was okay, but the service was awful.
A friend and I went there for lunch because we had a Groupon for two people or more, and really wanted to try it out. When we walked in we were motioned (from a distance) to sit anywhere and pointed to the buffet. No menus were offered, didn't ask us what we wanted to drink, and after being handed our naan and water glasses we didn't see our sever again until the end. We got there around 2:30 and by 3:00 we had a sever tap his watch and tell us to get more food if we wanted because they were going to pick up everything. Had someone actually talked to us when we arrived I think it would've been smart to notify us what time lunch was over so that we could decide whether to stay or go, instead of rushing us out. The food was good but lukewarm, and very little was left. Because it was a buffet, my friend and I got up a few time to get new dishes but, despite there being what looked like three servers and only two tables, no one picked up our dirty dishes or refilled our water glasses. I had to refill my own water glass from my water bottle. The other table was occupied by men and I did not notice the sever talking down to them like he did my friend and I (both women). The check was delivered to our table and quickly picked up before we got a chance to get to it which clearly annoyed our server, so when I told him we had a Groupon he said we couldn't use it because it was only accepted at dinner time. This information was NEVER stated in the fine print of the Groupon. I tried to explain that to him and his response was, "Well, I'M telling you" gave an exasperated sigh and walked away. My friend and I were left to pay out of pocket for lunch and were left with an unused Groupon that had to be refunded because there was NO WAY WE'D EVER RETURN to that place. It's a shame because we really like Indian food and we're always happy to support...
Read moreI love Tandoor, my family and I have been coming to them for years, the food is amazing and so is the service. My favorite dish is the Palak Paneer, but they also have a great variety of dishes and all the ones that I have had have always been delicious, I am a vegetarian and so are a few members of my family there are also some in my extended family that aren't and they love this place too so they have plenty of both vegi and meat dishes that are all so great. The service is always awesome too, above and beyond, they really are what I call a "class act" very attentive and polite. Just today we got a few dishes to go, they asked us how spicy we would like them and I said medium, well when we got home and started eating we came to realize that the Chana Masala was too spicy for us, I called and asked if they would exchange it for a less spicy version and they had no problem doing so. Even though this was admittedly probably my fault for ordering medium instead of mild. When I took the dish back to have it exchanged they even turned me on to a small mango lausse(a delightful yogurt type drink) for free while I waited for the dish to be remade. Now I'm not necessarily saying that they would do this for every person every time but it's just a great example of how unbelievable the customer service is here and that is the case every time that I have been here. Awesome restaurant I really can't say enough good things about this place so do yourself a favor and give them a visit, you won't be...
