Went in to Jimmy John's for the first time today... This is a new place in Oregon City so it shouldn't be a shock to the employees that some people that walk through the door will have never been to their establishment before. I was greeted right away and then a couple seconds later was asked what they could get started for me. I hadn't even had time to look at the menu so I quickly stated "I don't know yet thanks." There were a bunch of high school kids working behind the counter, it was not very busy in the store (just a couple sitting at a table) so I thought the service might have been better than what I got. A "do you have any questions?" or "have you been to our store before?" would have been welcome but I just got blank stares when I said that I wasn't ready to order yet.
I finally settled on a number 6, labeled "Vegetarian". I am a vegetarian so I thought I would give this place a shot because I am tired of being told I have to pay more to get extra cheese on the only vegetarian sub from Subway which is basically just a meat sandwich with all the veggies minus the meat for the same price if not more if you want to add extra cheese, I digress.
One of the maybe 5 employees behind the counter slapped the wrapped up sandwich on the counter and shouts out "Number 6". I go to pick it up and ask a couple employees that were just standing there if I could have a bag. They inform me that it is self serve. I honestly think that if you are to make it "self serve" that you might try putting the bags and napkins somewhere where the customer does not have to reach over the counter to grab their own bags while the employees stand idly around.
I drive home, unwrap the sandwich and take a bite. I notice there is something not right about the sandwich. I begin to take it apart and find about 5 slices of bacon in my "Number 6 Vegetarian" sandwich. I drive back and inform the person at the counter that I ordered a Vegetarian sandwich and there is bacon on it. They state that I must have picked up the wrong sandwich (which is not my fault when I pick up a sandwich that they call out as my order). I got a new sandwich but a discount coupon or something would have made me feel a little better about having to drive back after I had already driven home.
Needless to say it was not a very good first experience here and I am not sure if I will be back. If I were the owner or manager I would work with my employees on how to provide better...
Read moreI preordered and paid $472 for a catering order of 35 box lunches on 9/25 to be delivered on 10/5 at 1145 prompt. I asked if they could handle the order for that day and I was told yes. On 10/3 I called and increased the order by 6. I again asked the manager if they can handle the order for delivery at 1145 since my conference was on a tight prescheduled agenda. at 1130 on 10/5, I received a call from the store telling me they would be a little late. I asked how late and they told me 15 min. I clarified that meant noon and he agreed. Noon came and went and at 1215 I called again and was told they were still working on the order. I asked how long and he said 5 min. At 1230 I called back and was told the driver was out for delivery, the location was 7 min away for store. At 1245 I called back yet again to ask where the driver was? Manager stated he would call his driver and find out. Finally at 1250 the driver arrived, an hour and 5 minutes late from the agreed upon time the week prior. While the sandwich's were fine, they placed all the pickles into individual unsealed plastic bags which leaked. After the Conference, I went to the store and the manager told me he was not able to run my card for the additional 6 sandwiches so he would offer that as the complimentary for the inconvenience. He said I would not be charged the additional $72. I just received my credit card statement and he in fact did charge my card the $437 and the additional $72 for a $509 total. To say I am irritated would be an understatement. I am going to hit every review site I can locate and ensure the lack of customer service and the outright deceit from that...
Read moreI ordered one bootlegger club with light mayo, no lettuce, and no tomato. I received a bootlegger with what seemed to be extra lettuce (in pretty poor shape), lots of mayo, and tomatoes. The meat also had a residue on it, that was brown in color. I tried to give the benefit of thr doubt on that - but the quality of the sandwich in general was just "meh" at best. I also ordered one of the little John's and while I was expecting it to be smaller, I guess I just didn't realize it would literally be one single slice of meat for the whole sandwich, and a sad slice at that. 😳😅 Anyway, the service was subpar, it was very quiet and awkward. One employee who was cleaning the lobby did greet me and seemed friendly enough, but everyone else just seemed like they wanted the day to be over. The whole thing wasn't a huge deal, but it's enough that I likely won't be going back and I took the time to share my feedback here. Also, no need to reach out to try to rectify the situation - when I went looking for my receipt to fill out my survey, I realized the employee never even managed to ring me up for my online order, during the 5 minutes I waited in the lobby. Perhaps they assumed they'd probably mess up the order somehow and proactively comped the meal.. 🤷🏼♂️😅 Nevertheless, even the free meal is not enough to get me to go back,...
