Called 2 days in a row and spoke to the same person about donating a 3 year old new condition one piece gym standard elliptical machine. After being told that it was definitely something they accept as donations I attempted to schedule a donation pick up online. That proved difficult so we used our own pick up truck to bring the machine to the store ourselves. Before doing this I made the 2nd call to the store to let them know we were bringing it ourselves and again I was told "wonderful, we'll see you soon." We arrive at the donation door and we're abruptly turned away. We offered to remove the elliptical ourselves and roll it up the ramp and put it in the donation store room for the guy. He still said no, there wasn't any room for it. Meanwhile you can see inside and there was lots of open space. The machine is literally 4.5 feet long and 3 feet wide. We went to the front of the store and spoke with the woman who told us it was okay to bring our donation and she said ultimately it is the decision of the donation receiver. Frustrated at this point because we now had the machine loaded in our truck, in the rain(the machine was protected to not get damaged) and no where to take it, I told her in the future when someone calls to verify acceptance of a donation, direct the call to the people working the donation area if they are the ones that decide if something is accepted or not. BTW, right by the counter was a row of chairs which included a pedicure spa chair. The kind with massage and the foot soaking bowl and I'm sure weighed much more than our elliptical machine with wheels for easy moving. I'm 5'3" 50 year old woman and I've rolled it from one side of my home to the room on the other side a few times. We called Goodwill on Ochoco and they accepted it, no problems. We really wanted to support SuperThrift with our $2,200.00 dollar elliptical but had to give it to Goodwill, or the dump since we needed the space it was using in our home for an installation of a pellet stove. We just wouldn't have the space...
Read moreIts great that Oregon City has a more central thrift store. Its a fine store with a lot of potential but there is A LOT of room for improvement.
Pros: -nice layout -some staff friendly (also see below in cons) -plenty of furniture and its well organized -great location -good cause -easy to donate to -all items besides clothing (see cons) individually marked
Cons: -Some staff are unfriendly -Prices are not marked on individual clothing items. Its easy to be upcharged on an item that was below a cheaper sign. This happened to me and I had to go over myself to take a photo of the sign and show the employee ringing up. People go to thrift stores to get a good deal so this is a huge room for improvement. -They don't allow small backpacks, even small purse-like ones. Many people use small backpacks as a purse to carry essentials in or to keep their hands free. They will try to get you to put it up front. This is just not safe or necessary. I can understand large bulky backpacks, but tiny ones that only fit a wallet and necessities? I've never been asked by any store to leave my backpack purse up front. It was very unprofessional. -Some item prices are way too high. Its very inconsistent so some are more than you can buy at an store, some are normal thrift store pricing. -No changing rooms, or at the very least an exchange policy. Most clothing is not cheap enough to offset this risk. -No push shopping carts available

Read moreNice thrift store, Oregon City really needed a place like this after the big O' corporatized Goodwill decided we weren't good enough for a store any longer, after about 30+ years in town... The Girls that work here are super nice, not annoying in any way at all (that was a very nice change!), they just focus on their work, and let everyone shop, as they should! They could definitely use more men's plus sizes for the "larger" fellows like myself, but I fo realize they do not have any kind of choice of what comes into the store after all! Lol Oh, and I understand that it's a 'Christian' organization that runs the store, but it would be nice if they played something OTHER THAN A CHRISTIAN MUSIC RADIO-STATION.... Just saying?!!? Not everyone is a Christian, and I can only tolerate so many 'Jesus's' over the loudspeakers while thumbing through the racks, I know Christians have an unhealthy obsession with trying to 'convert all of the hethans in the world' and their goal is to shove that junk down your throat in hopes that someone gives up and gives in just so they can get some air again, but this JEW ISN'T GOING TO BE ONE OF THEM!! HAHAHA-HAHAHA!!! 😆😂🤣 P.S. At the front counter there a wheel you can spin for giving them a review here on Google, and you get something free no matter what! I was just buying a single dress shirt, and since a free shirt is one of the potential prizes, she said I could simply have it! Nothing like a FREE trip to the...
