Went there today, our server was good, tried too hard with the jokes, but seemed like a genuine guy. Placed our order only to be told minutes later they were out of a certain product. I heard other customers around me being told the same thing, so they were out of multiple products. Customers were complaining and upset. We change one order due to this as well, get our food and the French fries and tots were under cooked. Other food was just ok. Not mind blowing good. We let our server know, he apologized and said he would let the cooks know. Came back and said he was sorry again, the cook they have he “just” found out was only 2 days new. No we did not get a discount on our order, nor did we request one. I’m not in the food industry, but good customer service is hiring someone with experience, hiring someone to check the food before it goes to the public, having a manager who cares about these details, to make sure he/she is running the business appropriately. I have tried to like this place. I’ve come 5x so far, and it gets worse and worse. I feel management needs to step their game up. They need to make sure food AND drink are good to be served to paying customers. I don’t see myself or my family coming back any time soon. The ratings are going down and it’s clear management can’t seem to handle their staff/departments or inventory. The waiters/waitresses are getting the brunt of this, I’m not sure if they are putting face on and acting dumb (come on) and know what’s going on, or truly there’s ZERO communication and experience happening here. Until I see reviews getting better, I won’t be going back. I would like to see some customer service recovery here. It starts with the top and trickles down, do I blame poor management for not knowing what is happening or if they are aware, not providing their employees with proper training tools/scripts to inform customers of lack of products or experiences? It was distasteful how we were told someone who worked there for a bit didn’t know about a new employee on day 2. I find that to be ridiculous. I find it ridiculous that food was never checked prior to being delivered to customers, even by the server. There are many things that should occur in a business that runs well... this place lacks so many things. I recommend management and staff take a course on customer service training. Management- there are classes/books/webinars that could be taken to help improve the location...
Read moreHad the worst dining experience there. Slow service, cocktails were watered down, would have liked to order more drinks but the service was so slow we didn't get a chance, and food was mediocre at best. The bartender forgot one of our drinks we had to ask again for it. All in all I wouldn't have complained about the crappy service/food/drinks if it weren't for the outrageous overcharge. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and tater tots. Asked the bartender if that's okay, said we understand if there needs to be an upcharge since it's off the kids menu and he said he would figure something out. When we got our bill I asked how come he charged us $17.95 for the grilled cheese sandwich. He immediately got offended that I was questioning the charge and got an attitude with me. I told him it cost $9 on the kids menu, I understand that you need to upcharge it but I never would expect to pay nearly $18 for a grilled cheese sandwich! We ordered a hummus plate, cocktails, and a BLTA sandwich as well. My grilled cheese sandwich was the most expensive thing on our bill. The guy yelled at me and told me I was being rude. It's not rude to question an $18 grilled cheese sandwich. I was not mean about it I just pointed out it was strange that he chose the most expensive sandwich option to ring in for the grilled cheese. The BLTA was only $15.95, the hummus plate was only $15.95. Charge me $15.95 for the sandwich, but don't charge me more than any other dish on our bill, ridiculous! He then proceeded to yell at me telling me that I ruined his day. Walked away and then came right back and started cussing at us that we could F'in leave and never come back. This was needless to say incredibly shocking. I barely even said anything to this guy and he completely freaked out and went off on us. I was definitely not mean whatsoever, simply questioned the bill and got kicked out and told never to come back. I asked to speak to a manager and then was informed that he was the manager lol. Your manager Zack is unhinged! Yikes! Talk about anger management issues. You are going to lose a lot of local business due to him treating...
Read moreOn a whim we decided to go here after finding out the Vietnamese place in the same parking lot was closed Mondays. We were seated fairly quickly (thankfully, apparently) in the nearly empty restaurant (this will be important later) and the server asked for our drink orders. I asked what was on tap, and she exasperatedly said, "What do you want, we have a lot." I asked if they had an IPA, preferably hazy, and she said, "We have a Pelican I think is hazy, will that work?" Sure. Our first round came decently quick and we ordered our dinners. Those took a little longer and were pretty good, though small, especially the tiny, watery coleslaw I had with my Nashville hot chicken. My wife's Ceasar side salad wasnt good at all. Each meal was $14, which might fly in downtown Portland but this is OC. For a small single chicken tender, 3 pickle "chips", and 2 slices of white bread, I'd expect to pay no more than $10. Same for my wife's shrimp po' boy. We ordered a second round and my wife's margarita came right away but for some reason I was told the bartender was "really busy" so it would be "a bit" before I got my beer (still a nearly empty restaurant). Our server passed by a couple times and she apologized for the delay each time. I finally got it around 10 min later. From the look and temp, itd been sitting somewhere for a while. The day after our visit my wife and I are both feeling a little sick. We think the funky Ceasar salad might be the culprit. As others have mentioned, there's a Wild Hare just down the road we'll choose over this mediocre...
