New Hing's Restaurant — Restaurant in Oregon City

DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY! I ordered delivery at 5:30 pm, they said it would be an hour. Called back at 7 and they said it was out for delivery. Called back at 8 and they told me it had been delivered and that I signed the credit card receipt and gave a $3 tip. After arguing for 30 minutes with me they said that the driver could deliver my food tomorrow for free. I said I was hungry tonight! She said ok than you can come and pick it up yourself. When I arrived she asked for my ID to prove I was who I said I was. Then she showed me the receipt and someone else had signed it. It was not my signature. She then tells me that she will not refund my money for the inconvenience because she is sure it was delivered. She was actually calling me a lier! She asked me why I waited so long to call and seemed to imply that while I was eating my delivered food I concocted a plan to get more food for free! Finally after further argument, she takes my ID with her into the kitchen to get my food and returns with the food and without my ID. I asked for my ID back and she went and got it but stopped in the office to make a copy of it. I asked her why she took a copy without my permission and she just said oh it’s business. She would talk to the driver and if he says he didn’t deliver it than she would refund my money. But if he says he did deliver it, she will not refund the money. I am still in shock over the way I was treated. I have never been called a lier and it isn’t sitting well with me. She had no regard for customer service or my future business. “She” I was told, is the owner. Let’s talk about the food. I very unwilling ate it since I went through so much to get it. It is made with MSG and gave me horrible nightmares which MSG does to me. I was given a whole order of fried rice and paid for it when all I wanted was a side which comes with the chicken. The fried shrimp was awful and I pray I do not get food poisoning from it. It was all very salty and is sitting like a brick in my stomach still. Good luck if you choose to eat here. Negative...

Today is 2/15/2022 I Johns auto electric before Hing today for lunch they were great i only needed a little wire fixed and they stopped what they were doing and fixed it for me thanks gave them 20.00 for 12 mins work. i appreciate it alot.. I then went to Hings for lunch about 2:35pm also ..I have ate there for years and drank there alot when i was young 30 plus years ago. They all know me and my family and friends very well.

Today i ordered a number 5 as usually i do with barbecue pork . Well i hate to say it was ice cold and i mean gross ice cold . I asked the nice hostess to come over she did . I told her it was refrigerator cold she said thats the way it is dont make it fresh except the Shrimp. She stated they make that fresh to order but others made in the am and sit .. They might have for gotten to micro wave it she said she would do that for me no problem ... I said no its okay i just go i ate the four shrimp . I told her i and all wont be back ever i said it for times and i asked her if she understood because she kept saying to me okay okay .. I tip very well there because i know its been hard for them at least 50.00 dollars every time i go or we go with friends ... I guess this is how they do food now left overs basically and dont care if you come back or not.. Sad .. I miss the one in Gladstone family owned and ran made there food fresh and hot you could see in the kitchen .. i guess they are now a microwave place like so many others they joined fast food instead of good food. said for Hings

Edited from one star to five. Ding dong Janet is gone. John and Lan are very nice people and we love eating at their restaurant.

I refuse to go in the place any more because of Janet. It's too bad, since I have been a loyal customer there for over 30 years. Janet has bad health, bad luck at gambling and a really, really bad attitude towards life in general. Bad karma? lol

She had to quit smoking. Therefore. she resents everyone that still does. Especially, the legal medical marijuana smokers. They are to blame for Janet's myriad of problems. Of course, the majority of the people in there smoke weed. So, Janet is the sorry minority. Dah.

On the other hand, it's okay for Janet to get drunk before work. Two hours before. I heard she tripped and fell and had to have an ambulance take her to the hospital. Drunk again?? YUP!!!! She will "86" people she simply does not like. Or, put a time limit on when they can or can not be there. Not to mention......, she gambles her paycheck away every week. John has to give her advances so she can pay her bills. Wow, what a joke Janet has become. No wonder poor John is always struggling down there every week.

Not sure why John or Lon Chin keep Janet around at all. Maybe they feel sorry for her. Janet is pretty sorry, for sure. OLCC have been informed and it's just a matter of time before they bust her.... again. The sooner the better. The "watch" has her plate # now. I suspect that they will get her before OCPD does.
