AVOID this place! This is where Mexican food goes to die.
It’s not authentic Mexican food in any way. It would be better if they described themselves as Mexican fusion or something.
Food was overpriced and very bland. The meat was not seasoned correctly. The menu is like a jigsaw to put together a meal because in traditional Mexican places you order enchiladas and they will come with beans and rice. Not here, you have to order those separately at a cost to you. The Spanish rice was disgusting and bland and had what looked like frozen peas and carrots in it. Who does that? Can’t think of an actually authentic place doing that.
Basically you pay for overpriced weirdly flavored food or overpriced bland food here.
Service is nonexistent. We waited for ever to get our order placed. While we were waiting I was watching the staff just stand there and talk amongst themselves. It wasn’t until one of the girls came over to clear the messy table next to us and we asked for her attention. Then all we got from there on was rude service. They brought the wrong orders to our table twice and then never fixed it like they said they would so we got stuck with, and they got to throw away, half of the food they wrongfully brought but still made us pay full price for it as the bill they gave was not ours and they wouldn’t fix that either. And we were told no manger was available that day when earlier in our meal she came out and said something to one of the servers. So that was a lie.
Then They force you to tip. There is mandatory gratuity charges here. Which means they won’t pay their staff the right wage and are expecting you to do that for them. If you can’t cover your costs and pay your employees a decent wage then you as the business owner should not be in business at all or need to consider downsizing to a smaller location where you need to pay less staffers. Since I was forced to tip, I feel cheated because I lost my choice to not tip at a restaurant that clearly does not...
Read moreThis quaint corner spot offers always delicious tacos, surprisingly well-made drinks, great service, and speed. Their big bar, great big windows, nice wall art, and TVs playing sports make it a great place to bring a large group for the best sports food.
Piña Colada - I ordered it made with rum, and wow, the pineapple flavor stood strong. It left a great aftertaste, and not too much alcohol flavor. The girl who made it seemed to be super good at making them. 8/10
Chips and Guacamole - We get their chips and guac every time! The guac is very well seasoned and tastes great, and their house-made chips are well-salted and perfectly cooked. Can’t go wrong! 9/10
Suadero Taco - This was my favorite of the night. The suadero beef belly (like chicharrones) was perfectly cooked, with a beautiful mix of crispy pieces of meat and buttery fat that melted in your mouth. Paired with onions, cilantro, and lime, it was a delight. 9/10
Carne Asada Taco - This one was good, but I felt like the meat could’ve had more char to allow it to stand on its own a bit more. After the bold flavors in the other tacos, this feels a bit boring. But you still can’t go wrong with a good carne asada taco. This is just my opinion, my father loved it and lots of people prefer this style of cubed, medium-cooked asada. 7.5/10
Camarones A La Diabla (Spicy Shrimp) Taco - This taco came with 4-5 good-sized shrimp covered in a great red chile sauce, topped with avocado sauce, and beautiful deep purple pickled onions. This one was also a great, creative menu option that I loved. 8.7/10
Don’t worry, my ratings don’t matter. I’ll give y’all 5 stars for sure because you deserve it, this is just my personal taste and opinions on the individual items. Thanks so much for the service! Y’all fit in good down there and I wish you...
Read moreSuper friendly and helpful staff! Cute and spacious spot in Oregon City, yet easy and busy access from I-205.
Menu posted in the front right at the entrance door to help decision-making easier. However, it was outdated during my quick stop-by for takeout. The Ceviche Tostada listed with fish which was the only reason I came in since fish ceviche is my thing. The friendly staff informed me that they were no longer serving fish ceviche, only shrimp. I went ahead with the shrimp ceviche tostada since I was already there and hungry.
While waiting for my takeout, I ordered the Virgin Nada Colada. I liked the taste of it, yet a bit more ice than needed so it was more slushy of a drink and a bit to a sweeter side.
I ate the tostada shrimp ceviche as soon as I got home. I was disappointed with the fact that the shrimp tasted pre-cooked and then topped with whatever tops they put on it and some lime/citrus-based. Pre-cooked ceviche, especially seafood is not my preference.
The Yucca Root Fritters sounds so good so I had to order it. They were so disappointed as well. They came in almost round ball shape. Mine was neither cooked nor heated through. It was like I ate half-cooked egg dough.
Despite my first visit disappointment, I would give OC Taco another chance simply because I think OC needs and could benefit from more variation of eateries. I wish they would add tamales to their menu in the...
