I have a zebra Finch and I wanted to go get him A friend my daughter and I walk in didnāt get greeted but I noticed everyone else did whatever then we go over to the bird section after standing there for a while. I finally walk up to the representative and I ask hey can I get some help with the birds, he says sure Iāll call someone over my daughter and I stood in that bird section for at least a good 30 minutes bonding with the other birds, laughing among ourselves, but also still no representative. One guy was with me and stocked everything around, but never addressed us nor asked if we even needed help as we stood in the same spot and he had been stalking the same shelf for quite some time the person who initially said they would get help also stood there, staring at us the entire time, but never once reassured us. Someone was coming addressed us again or even tried to call for help again. A woman also was standing with him who worked there as I asked for help initially so thatās three workers two doing pretty much nothing and One checking people out, but neither one of us got assistance asked if we were OK reassured someone was coming nor were we ever addressed at all. It was like I was standing there 30 minutes but yet invisible they definitely looked at us quite often, but no one ever spoke with us not even assured someone was coming and they were running behind nothing so safely to say after about five more minutes, including the 30 I had already been sitting there we decided to leave the customer service was poor. It felt a little disheartening nor do I want to support a store where you canāt even address us I have to go to you but yet youāre looking at me the entire time Iām not going to say donāt shop here thatās up to you, but I will say the customer service was poor. I felt very invisible. My daughter also never got the pet. We came to get Weāre in a pet store and when we left, no one even addressed us it was one of the worst experiences but to add icing on the cake this is my local pet store so I come in very frequently because as I stated, I have one pet already and Iāve noticed Iāve always had to walk up to the employees to get any type of assistance nor do they ever come up to us or greet us ask us how are we if they can help or anything I just canāt continue to support a store like this I would rather drive a further distance with better service the store sucks that was worse I didnāt get my pet a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe store is fine. The PetsHotel is what I'm reviewing. I've gone back and forth on whether to post this review, but I would certainly want to know about the experience if I were considering sending my dogs here. The prices are appealing and, at first glance, the staff is amazing. My dogs did daycare first and then we booked them to stay for three nights.
Daycare was fine, we actually discussed doing more days of it later. We've since changed our minds because boarding was a nightmare. My oldest dog is 12. She's been with our family for 11.5 years and has lived in 5 states. She's been boarded for quick weekends, week-long vacations, and even a 3-week stint when we were moving cross country. She's always been fine. She prefers to be at home but she has always had great reports from any of the kennels and daycares.
We checked her in to the Petsmart PetsHotel on Saturday morning and got the phone call Sunday evening that she was on her way to the urgent care vet. They had noticed several signs of distress, including GI upset, beginning that morning. Despite noticing the symptoms all day long, they waited until after the urgent care hours were over and then took her to the ER vet on the west side of town for an after-hours emergency visit. And they didn't call me until she was already en route, presumably 10-12 hours after symptoms started.
After a nearly $400 ER vet visit, we cut our plans short and drove home to pick her up the next day. As soon as I got her outside the store, she peed like it was the first time she'd been out in days. Then, as soon as she got home, she had solid stools. Her appetite was immediately back to normal and she has had no issues since (it's been two weeks).
She's a rescue and we suspect she was beaten as part of her potty training. She absolutely will not go inside unless she just can't help it. Maybe she did have some random health issue. She is 12 years old. But based on her behavior and complete lack of symptoms once we got her home, we think she was holding her bathroom needs and made herself sick. So don't trust the PetsHotel's claim that they have "unlimited relief walks." I'd be shocked if she had any. I am thankful my sweet girl is okay, but was an incredibly expensive reminder for me that I'd rather trust my dog to a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy 2 star review is based solely on the grooming dept. I have taken my 2 year old Golden retriever there twice. The first experience was a 4 star but the second was a disaster hence the reason a 2 star review was in order. The good. Appointments are plentiful and easy to book. With a easy cancelation if needed. The hours are also very accommodating. My first experience was with a very friendly groomer who loved our dog and and seemed very into her quality of work. The bad. Our 2nd visit was not so good from start to finish. The vibe was negative from drop off to pick up. What should of taken 3+ hours for a full service spa day turned into 1.5 hrs chop shop cut. This was 140.00 of hard earned money spent. Their pick up process consist of a piece of paper left in a tabletop organizer out side the grooming office door. No paper was there, so they had to locate it. After they found it I was able to go pay. The lady that handed our pup off to us was rude with a negative attitude she said we didnāt touch his ears because he a ear infection. I didnāt know they were vet certified and able to diagnose these types of medical conditions. After a 140.00 vet visit he didnāt have a ear infection his ears was just dirty as itās very common for golden retrievers. Our pup was very fluffy like he was freshly blown but after getting home it was clear this was a very low quality cut. It looked like a bowl cut with very obvious lines along both his sides and his ears. My wife said he looked like Mutt Cuts from dumb and dumber. Poor boy. I knew his hair would grow out and we would get it fixed at his next visit with a different groomer. Not the end of the world. At the end of the day itās a dog that got a bad haircut by a rude person but he is also part of our family. I also understand we are coming out of a pandemic and people are on edge and staffing levels are short all around but it doesnāt excuse how this visit turned out. I didnāt call and complain as it was clear to me that I would find another groomer and move on. As a business I believe pet smart has a great selection and is fairly priced but this overall visit was 2...
