TL;DR- Great pizza, crappy customer service for phone orders. Update for 9/6/24. For the fourth consecutive time in two months, we placed a phone order which, unbeknownst to us, was not put in the oven until I arrived, checked in on line, waited twenty or so minutes, THEN went to the counter and asked about my pizzas. At this time the young woman behind the counter stated tha my order had not been paid. I paid , she wandered off, then returned and told me my order would be ready in about 10 mins. When I asked why my order wasnt processed before, she looked at the counter and mumbled yasa, yada... Busy...yada...system...., then just walked away. My order came up about 15 mins kater. When I asked the young man what was really happening with phone orders and why didn't they tell people the order wouldnt be processed ontil the customer showed up and paid. Even though the young man stated that he was "kinda in charge" I got more BS about...busy...the system, etc. I told him I would like a real answer and not the BS, unfortunately letting the actual words slip in my frustration. Then another young man stepped into the situation and openly chastised me for "swearing in front of his emplyees". I told him that I wanted to speak to the actual person in charge, was told he wasn't in, was offered that person's phone number by one guy, then the other guy told me I would absolutely not be getting that number. Both young mend turn and walked away while I was stating that I expect contact from the owner. One of the guy took my name and number, I took my pizzas and left I contacted the email on the websie, and as of today, 9/19/24 have heard nothing from phone or email. I'm pretty much done.
For the second visit in about two weeks, it took 45 to get my two takeout pizzas. The three eat in orders ahead of me were well on their way to being done with their food by the time I got mine. I understand that circumstances sometimes get in the way, and there were quite a few pickup orders (online, maybe) being filled before I got my in- house order. I was going to do an online order, but you don't provide the ability to split pizzas on the site. Not angry, just disappointed. Second excessive wait time in a row. But, the folks behind the counter are quick to act when they think something...
Read moreNot my favorite Wild River. Please understand that every Wild River is very unique, this being one of them. So what is this experience? It tries to stay true to its Pizza Deli history and refuses to move forward in the way of better business. Decore is rustic, with natural wood everywhere. Local highschool is showcased throughout, as they seem to be a big supporter of the BHHS Bruins. Most of the staff (of mainly high schoolers) congregates in the kitchen. To one side of the kitchen is a large serving bar where you place your order and they give you a number. You better be standing by when they call your number because someone else can and will walk off with your food. Around the other side of a wall is a bar to order alcoholic drinks, but is usually unattended for you to be able to place an order. Due to the small amount of staff expect a small menu selection (compared to other restaurants of the same name), dirty floors, and non-bussed tables. There is no wait staff. You must set your own table if you would like a place mat and paper plates (no dish plates here). There is nice but cramped game room with arcade games, one air hockey, and one pool table. Mainly we go here because we LOVE Wild River pizzas. But this place has so much room for improvement it saddens me. If this place was set up more like Grants Pass it would make for x5 the better dining experience and see probably X2 the amount of customers,...
Read moreOrdered a pizza and breadsticks over the phone. I was told that it would be approximately 15-20 minutes. So I showed up at the store about 20 minutes later. They had cooked my pizza but not the breadsticks. So I end up waiting another 5-8 minutes at the restaurant. By the time I got home the pizza was luke warm, while the cheesy bread was nice and hot. After opening the box I discovered that the restaurant has an interesting way of cutting their pizzas. Something I have only ever seen for breadsticks from other companies. They cut everything into tiny little morsels (confetti cut), not actual pizza pie slices.
The 'cheesy bread sticks' were pieces of a loaf of garlic bread with a layer of cheese added to the top. The best part of the meal was the peanut butter cookie I purchased in addition to the pizza and 'cheesy bread'. But in no way would I return for the cookie...or pizza.
Update: I decided to try the pizza again after about 6 months. The pizza was very thin and again the pepperoni seemed undercooked. The pepperoni still tastes like beef jerky sticks sliced and then placed on the pizza. I got the brownie which was decent, sorta made up for the pizza not being great. After I looked at the pizza I instantly thought a store bought $5.00 pizza would have looked and tasted better. Go to Fred Meyers and...
