We just tried Vessel for the first time tonight and although we had a few issues, overall it was positive and nothing that would prevent us from coming back.
First of all, the food was very good! The spaghetti squash was literally the best I've ever had and my 4yo kept asking for more. The falafel was also great, and even my 4yo (who doesn't like falafel) enjoyed it. The portion sizes for adults was also adequate.
I really appreciate that the allergens are clearly marked and that there are plenty of vegan options (my family is plant-based and we have some soy and dairy allergies and had more than adequate options, and even a tasty dessert option).
The only complaints were that I wish spice level was marked (the sweet potatoes had more spice than anticipated) and the kids meal was quite pitiful. I was excited that the kids meal had smaller portions of the adult options (instead of just chicken tenders), but we did a pickup order and when we got home discovered half of my 4yo's meal was missing. All she got was 2 falafel balls, a few orange slices (the fresh fruit), and some carrot sticks (the seasonal veggies) which was essentially a snack. Even if she would've gotten her missing side, it still wouldn't have been worth the price for the quantity of food. I expected more along the lines of a fruit cup with assorted fruit and some steamed mixed veggies. We called them and they offered us a partial refund though which was appreciated. Next time we'll skip the kids meal and just get an adult-sized...
Read moreThis is an interesting place. I can tell they are trying to be an upscale purveyor of healthy food within a minimalist dining space and decor. Also, I thought the food was decent and only a bit overpriced, which was nice. For the pros: I would say that the meat is tender, the vegetables are crisp, and the sauces that we tasted were quite good. I also feel like the serving size of the tacos was decent and also the naan bread that they used as a tortilla shell was nice. The only real complaint I have is that the sauces that they put on the top really were only enough to flavor the top most toppings of the food, leaving the meat really by itself; a good, but plain flavor. It would also be nice to have some bottles or containers of sauce available for the tables, or some little cups that could be used to dip and add to dish, as needed to blend in the flavors better. It would also be nice to have something to drink besides water. They give you these tiny stainless steel cups, probably because they're trying to not use paper, but they're basically useless unless you're a toddler. I had to fill mine three times just to get enough fluid to go with my meal. I'm guessing that they're also anti-soda, which will be a put-off for many, so you can't really get anything decent to drink with the food. Next time I will bring my own cup...
Read moreFood was delicious and fresh, but please do not offer a curbside delivery option for online orders if you do not actually offer it. I have a disabled child which makes it extremely difficult to load him in and out of the car so I was excited to see the curbside delivery option- even with a spot to include my car make/ model/ color. I even added an extra tip solely for that service. When I got to the restaurant I was told by employees that they don’t actually do curbside delivery and they don’t know why it’s listed on the website as an option. Very...
