I am not one to go out of my way to post negative reviews. But this visit made me change my patterns. I try to find the good in a company and spread the positive. Unfortunately the best I can say about this experience is that the food was free. I received a gift card to zaxby's and had never visited them but decided to treat myself and a coworker to lunch. after figuring out what we wanted online and getting an order together I went to the store as they don't accept their own gift cards on their website. I ordered a Grilled Cobb salad no toast or croutons with a side of fries. My coworker wanted a big zax meal but didn't know their sauces so wanted a few on the side to try. when I placed my order instead of letting me know that the meal was tossed in the sauce and so they could give me 1 on the side but the 2 pieces of chicken would be coated in the primary sauce, They chose to add a 2nd meal to my order and charge me an additional $7.59 they did not clarify thru the drive thru or at the window that this was the case and only after I received my receipt and the gift card had been run did I notice the discrepancy. When I asked the person at the window about it he said "oh yea that's why I asked what 2 drinks you wanted." Well I had ordered 2 meals and wanted 2 drinks why would that be a red flag to me that I was getting 3 meals and 2 drinks? At this point my half hour lunch was quickly running out so I decided to let it go we would eat the 2 extra chicken strips or my kid at home would. Got my food and raced back to the office. only to find they had forgotten to include my salad. So I grabbed the receipt and called the store. I told them what had happened and they asked "are you in the parking lot waiting" I told them no I was back at work and had run out of time. at that point I heard indistinct talking in the background and then was hung up on. (I would like to note at this point that I am a diabetic and my blood sugars will low) So I waited in my office until my coworker was again able to cover while I took a 2nd trip back to the store. I quickly ate the fries and found them mushy and not great. She ate some of her toast before I left and said it was really soggy for what it was. When I got the store they were busy again and because I had tried to call and been hung up on I did cut in line and ask to speak to the manager immediately. The cashier went in back for a second into the kitchen area and after a while came back with a gentleman who claimed to be the assistant manager. I again asked to speak with the manager and was told that he had gone to the bank. (at noon on a weekday in the middle of a lunch rush GREAT TIMING, Or he is a chicken who didn't want to talk to me.) The assistant manager attempted to help my and did get my replacement salad made. He listened to my complaints but didn't offer any apology or attempt to improve my experience other than getting me the salad. he asked for any names that I had with my experience, I am horrible with names but told him I went thru the drive thru, the kid I could see working the drive thru was the same as when I originally went thru. looking at my receipt the name is Sam G. 5206, the name of the manager i was given was Sam Gordan so either the drive thru employee was using the managers login or he was the manager. No one in the store ever told me sorry for hanging up or sorry for the mistake. I again was out of time and had to get back to the office so I took the managers name and number and my salad and went back to work. As they were bagging up the salad I saw them open the container and pull out the toast that at this time I had requested 4 times (just this trip) be left off. got back to the office and the "cobb salad" was 90% lettuce, 1 small chicken breast maybe MAYBE 1 tablespoon of cheese 4 TINY slices of tomatoes and precooked bacon that looks like something I would feed my dog. If the bacon was one full strip I would be suprised. They did provide me a full egg, that had 2 partial cuts and was sitting like a rock on top of...
Read moreI have come to Zaxbys for a great handful of visits since they've opened, and I have been impressed every time. Ive only had maybe 2 visits out of maybe 20 total where the food was subpar and caused digestive issues. But then again, I am a pretty sensitive eater. What I love about Zaxbys has been their customer service. The team seems to hold it together very well even in the busiest hours. I was so relieved when after accidentally spilling a drink, someone was ready, smiling, polite and willing to clean up even with so many other things going on. (It was dinner rush). Bathrooms have always been spotless, and tables are clean. As for food, the meals are usually consistently fresh, warm and delicious. I love their ranch! The one thing in terms of food I don't like is the soda machines. Sometimes they just don't have the soda you want, other times the soda is very flat, and I have a hard time finding a satisfactory flavor. Most of the time, I just opt for water. I wonder if there is a possibility of updating, or exchanging the soda machines. I also noticed there isn't a small trash bin for the straw wrappers, and they seem to accumulate there. Adding a small one nearby would probably help a lot in the long run. Those are my two of my suggestions for this particular restaurant. I think the atmosphere is a mix of great lighting, mood, and charming decor. I always recommend Zaxbys to everyone I know. Speaking of that, their email/mail sign up is absolutely AMAZING. It's free to sign up, and they often offer perks and fun deals. For one example, I received a FREE sandwich meal (worth around $10) in the mail, and couldn't believe my luck and joy!!! Now THAT is how you market and grow a successful business. Thank you Zaxbys for the great food, great memories and...
Read moreFirst, no one seemed to know what they were doing or could ask questions and get answers. Second, there were seat cushions missing, food on floor and dirty tables and the two staff were just hanging out chatting with each other. Kind of gross. Now to the food. The chicken was luke warm and looked nothing like the pictures. It was dry like it was sitting for a while. Obviously not freshly cooked. I was on my way to use the bathroom when I saw who appeared to be the "manager" telling an entitled "cook" the order was to eat in. The cook had put the order in a to go container so he grabbed the container, ripped off the lid (with the food in it) and said now it's a plate.
When I got back to the bathroom I walked up to a half ripped up container with cold strips and wings drenched in bbq sauce. We had no onion rings because they forgot them. Mind you we only ordered one meal. It wasnt a complex order. I took a bite of the cold chicken and looked at my wife and said let's go. The manager had allowed that to be served so why talk to him? Anyway I will be following up on this with corporate but I do not recommend that you eat at a place who's management has no standards of service. It showed and it tasted...
