Looking for a place to eat and had the craving for mexican. It happened to be Cinco de Mayo so I found this place but was a little reluctant when I found out it was part of a gas station. Read some reviews after I pulled in and they were all very positive on the food so I walked in. Would love to have tried it but make a long story short I sat around for 50 minutes after I ordered a burrito and 2 tacos to go because there were no clean tables to sit down at. I finally walked back up to the counter after the 50 minutes and just got my money back. They were soooo slow due to short staff.... long wait times even at 7:30. I contemplated walking out when I saw the train wreck going on, but reading the reviews I really wanted to try the food. I never imagined I'd sit around for 50 minutes waiting for a burrito. Unfortunately, I was starving and the 50 minutes felt like an hour and a half. For that matter, it might as well been. They need to hire a bus boy to clean tables, and another server wouldn't be a bad idea. One guy is trying to wait on the whole place and not that it's huge but probably 15 tables. Maybe a really good experienced server could pull it off, but he was anything but lightning. The whole place seems to run like molasses. It's unfortunate cuz it's a cute place, and the girl was friendly and apologetic saying it's Cinco de mayo we have a lot of orders blah blah blah. I said yeah even more reason to plan ahead and staff up. Absolutely...
Read moreI ordered a small frozen lemonade and when my drink came out it was much bigger than I expected. I didn’t think anything of it considering the waitress repeated back the small frozen lemonade to me. However, when the bill came, they charged me $15 for a “pitcher of lemonade”. I was already confused considering the only lemonades on the menu were a small and a large both priced under $5. So when I brought it up to the waitress she was saying how there isn’t a small lemonade. When I showed her the menu she was saying that the prices are only for the regular lemonades not the frozen one. So I asked her to show me where the frozen one was listed but she said it’s not on the menu it’s only on the computer where she puts in orders. I told her I wouldn’t have gotten the lemonade had I known it was $15, nor did I find it fair for her to charge me that amount without telling me considering it’s not even on the menu. Even when I ordered it, she didn’t say anything but just repeated back “a small frozen lemonade”. She quickly got and attitude with me and saying how it was on her screen but not on the menu and I explained how that’s not fair to charge me for something that’s not on the menu, when I wasn’t given any notice. I wasn’t offered a refund or any sort of compensation, I was only met with...
Read moreA cute Mexican restaurant on the corner of 143rd and LaGrange Hwy in Orland Park in a BP gas station... A bit odd of a location but I thought I'd give it a try. It seemed to have pretty good reviews... So I went in with an open mind and a hungry stomach. I left pretty much the same way. I ordered three shrimp tacos...at $5.95 each. And a medium Jamaica to drink. This wound up being a total of over $25. The tacos came out...and were disappointingly diminutive. They were truly 'shrimps'. And what they lacked in size...they also lacked in flavor. I could detect no actual flavors or spices added to the food on the taco other than the lime juice that I sprinkled on them from the lime wedges. The shrimp were tiny...and had no flavor... I'm not sure what method they used to cook them but it seemed like they were just boiled in order to get that little flavor into them. Even the salsa verde they brought out was flavorless. This was hands down one of the most disappointing meals I've ever had, and I am still going to have to run through a drive-thru somewhere after this to actually fill my stomach. I can't remember ever spending $25 on a meal and still being just as hungry as when I arrived. I definitely won't be back to try this again because the rest of the prices were...
