Update 8/15/24: Going to five stars based on stellar service for our party of 13! Miosha was an exemplary server!!! Pleasant throughout, attentive, got all the orders correct. Plus manager and several team members helped bring out our food quickly. The food was hot, fresh and tasty! We had the salmon, steak, burgers, soups and more. All were delicious. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
July, 2024. Great service from Allyson!!! But super loud; no sound barriers. Good party atmosphere; not great for dates, especially if you’re health-conscious. At least calorie counts are on menu. Great chicken strips! Meh Southwestern egg rolls. Chips excellent but too thin to handle thick queso. Salsa mainly cumin and watery fresh tomato purée with salt and a hint of onion. Great, from scratch ranch and avocado ranch sauces.
“Well, we’ve done our once-every-5-years visit,” remarked my husband. His daughter worked at Chilis in the 90s, so we check out Chilis every time we move somewhere new. (US Army. HU-ah!)
He always gets the appetizer platter and chips with queso. This time the recipe on the chicken seemed upgraded.
So the chicken strips were Paula Deen style (no garlic but crispy Southern fried chicken style; the crisp parts almost tasted like bacon fat without the smokiness).
The Southwestern egg rolls here cannot attain to the greatness of the huge ones we had at Claim Jumper back in the day. Those were crispier with chicken inside. These were too doughy and skinny.
Allyson, our server, was awesome; she almost read our minds. She visited us several times, yet was never obtrusive or stressed out. She smiled, cleaned and bussed tables; took orders; got the order right (plain cheeseburger for my picky husband); and noticed that the queso hadn’t been delivered by the team members so she promptly got the queso for us. She also got us appetizer plates without us having to ask her.
We sat next to a youth sports team that, at one point, were deafening with their cheers and speeches. My husband has hearing aids which get buzzy in a loud room. I hear perfectly well. Neither of us could hear ourselves think, it was so loud. This particular dining room was designed with no walls; it’s very open all the way across. I like quiet conversations and “face time” at a restaurant. I’ll pay good money for that. I guess I’m not the target patron for Chilis. And my husband, apparently, concluded...
Read moreMy family and I come in to eat at this chilis frequently, never having any issues with our rewards system. We have been part of the chilis email and points system for years now. Today we decided to go in for lunch, expecting our service to be of top notch as it always has been. As always, we start off with our routine of chips and salsa and entering in our number for the free app. Immediately our server was asking us to log in to the system, we had already done so repeatedly as he was going back and forth to our table at least 6x saying there was issues with the system, but the handheld device at the table said “welcome, thank you for logging in.” He then asks us to log into our email via phone to show proof that we are reward members, which our expiration date on the email was still 3 weeks out. We still hadn’t ordered our entrees yet and we felt like we were being hunted down for a $5 app. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for years as a server myself, the manager could’ve easily said from the jump “no worries, we will take care of it for you.” Instead, another server came out with a know-it-all attitude trying to make us look like idiots as if this was our first time dining in. The manager never came to the table to apologize on their behalf, and after the 10th time of being questioned on our honesty and loyalty to chilis, we decided to leave and dine somewhere else. Highly disappointed in this place since we are frequent regulars being...
Read moreThis was not a good experience at all. There were only 5 or 6 couples in the establishment at the time my girl and i entered the restaurant at 8:17 pm. before we could be seated a table needed to be cleaned. We were seated to the right side as you entered. To give you a bench mark to our location. Then came our server... he had the attitude of someone that clearly didn't want to be there and didn't hyde it. He asked for out drink order and when my girl ask him a question he was a bit short and not pleasant so she ordered just water. My margaritas had little or no alcohol and was small. I did order top shelf. $14 My girl ordered the salmon ad I had the fajitas. The food took way to long to arrive being the restaurant was almost empty and then was loaded with pepper as seasoning.. Our waiter did ask if all was good as he was passing not one time did he actually stop at our table until the meal was finished to remove out plates. He Did not ask if we wanted coffee dessert or anything else at the end of our meal. At time to pay he was quick to point out the payment options which included the tip screen.. i only tip $5 because the service was not up to even the lowest of standards in my opinion Nothing excuses bad customer service when customer service is your job. My reviews have well over 200.000 views and it's rare I post a negative experience such as this of any establishment. I give my experience a score of ( 2) out of 10. Eat well. Live...
