This stand has many different and unique options with tater tots. We got the carne asada tots, 2 pizza tots, the buffalo chicken tots, and the green eggs and ham tots. So we had an order with 5 items in it. We waited and watched as person after person who came after us got their order. These people had orders of one or 2 tots. So every time a tots would show up in the expo window, they would take it and use it to fill another order to get people moved and get more orders fulfilled, instead of using it for our ticket which was the next ticket in line for about 20 minutes. We waited about 30 minutes, while we watched people with one tots order and wait less than 5 minutes to get theirs. It was extremely frustrating. We thought to ourselves that we shouldn’t have ordered all 5 items at once, and that maybe we would have gotten our food quicker if we ordered 5 separate orders of 1 tots each. Finally one of the workers acknowledged that we had been waiting a while so she gave is 4 out of the five tots and said the last one was coming soon. It took about another 10 minutes to get the last one. So we were all eating for 10 minutes while our one family member was standing waiting for the food at the counter and not eating. It was sad. The portion for the price you pay is a really decent balance, and we all really enjoyed our tot meals as they tasted great! They just need to figure out the organization of taking orders, making orders, and calling out orders better. Overall I would recommend this as it is a unique and different option that is a departure from typical theme park food. Maybe try to go on off peak lunch times so it isn’t as chaotic...
Read moreThis may be a controversial opinion, but I think this is the best dining spot at Universal Islands of Adventure. I tried several restaurants and stalls at both Universal parks, and this place had the only food I'd order at a non-theme park dining establishment.
We got the carnitas dish and it was super tasty; the richness of the cheesy tots and meat was perfectly tempered by the salsa, sour cream, and green onions. It was filling enough that I split it with another person in my party. And at $12-ish, it was very cost effective compared to some of our other stops.
All in all, this place is worth a stop. After playing the field on this park visit, next time, I'll save my money and appetite for this stall and...
Read moreI do like green eggs and ham, Sam I am!
When creating a Dr. Seuss themed section of a theme park, one of the bottom lines is that there has to be a restaurant serving GREEN EGGS AND HAM. Come on, it’s iconic! So thank goodness for this lil cafe.
First of all, the building itself is literally a giant green ham! Hysterical, really. They serve a few different version of hashbrown hot dish essentially, and I have to say I thoroughly enjoy them. Especially the buffalo hash, the tater tots mixed with chicken, cheese and buffalo sauce is scrumptious. This is also a rather uncommon type of food for a theme park, which only makes it even more fun.
I’d actually recommend giving them a try, so you can like...
