Captain America diner is one of the best hidden secrets at Universal. It doesn’t really stand out, but it easily boasts the best view/ seating area of all the parks! It’s seriously so gorgeous- there’s a wide circular room adorned with windows for viewing the giant pond in the center of the park, as well as outdoor seating wrapping around the back of the restaurant. You truly can’t get better than this spot. As for the overall, I give 4 stars far more to the setup than the actual food and service. Classically, Captain America Diner serves up your basic American food. It’s okay but it’s definitely nothing to holler over. But the decorations and details in here immediately set off my nerd alert alarm, and I went into full haywire mode of fangirling. It’s like a comic book heaven. Famous heros make appearances all over the restaurant on the walls and ceilings- Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, She Hulk, Falcon, Ant Man, Vision, Beast, and of course Mr. America himself (those are maybe a third of all the actual characters you can find). Almost as many infamous villains too. My first time in here I had to just take a few walks around to admire all that was there. And that’s why I’ll come back to this diner: for the details and the view (that’s America’s a**!)

If you are going to charge approx 19$ inc. tax for a meal then it should be worth it. This bacon cheeseburger was an insult. The quality of the burger was the worst I have had during my holiday. 2 skimpy strips of bacon on the usual partially cooked plastic cheese together with a small portion of fries and all served just about warm enough to eat is simply not good enough. The milk shake was like ice cream and couldn’t be drunk through a straw. As no spoons are provided a fork was the only way to eat it! The outside tables where we ate were also filthy and not routinely cleaned properly between customers. Universal should hang their head in shame . It’s expensive enough visiting the Florida theme parks especially if you’ve travelled from the UK . Value for money should always be a priority if you really want your business to succeed unless of course you don’t give a toss and are happy to rip your passing customers off. I don’t care what the location is like , I’m sure Captain America wouldn’t eat here!

Just terrible. The tables were all sticky and dirty. There was one set of benches that didn’t even have a table. We watched at least 5 families jump back in surprise as they went to sit down because it looked vacant but there was no table between the benches. They kept insisting we order on the app to get faster service but the did was cold and slow regardless of that. The chicken tenders were mostly breading… the burger was tough and the fries were soggy and cold. We continued to eat the burger and tenders because we paid a total of $40 but we tossed the fries and the onion rings because they were terrible. The atmosphere was so gross. They played the same 3 songs over again. Holding out for a hero by Bonnie Tyler, We don’t need another hero by Tina Turner and My Hero by the foo fighters. Maybe they did that so ppl could get fed up and leave? Also it was very dim in there I felt drained after eating there and sick bc I couldn’t believe how awful the food was and the dirty environment.

The staff told us to sit at a table to order so we sat and waited 30 minutes before we realized no one was taking orders at the other tables. One of our group members went up there and asked about it and they insisted that we download a mobile app and order that way to make it faster. They previously didn't mention anything about an app. Apparently the whole line didn't know either. She yelled at the whole like to use the app. The person taking our order was rude and was talking to us like we were in elementary. You don't have to explain to me how a card works. It was mainly that one staff member who was rude and I think the other staff were sorry for her but didn't say it because I think she might be a superior. I don't know for sure. The food was okay and we didn't wait too long after we ordered. I went to get my drink on the fountain but my drink wasn't even halfway full when it just stopped due to a glitch or something. I tried to fill it the rest of the way but it said I have 0 refills. I didn't bother asking the staff because I didn't want to deal with it. The food was definitely not worth the money but that's more so because it's in a theme park so not really their fault but the rest is. I don't like leaving low reviews and I never thought I'd leave a bad review but I paid good money for this trip and I was disappointed by this restaurant. If you use the app you might have a better experience but that staff member just ruined it for me. I'd recommend eating at a food stand instead or at least at...

Terrible experience. They want you to use mobile order but do a very poor job explaining it. Why have a giant menu board and registers when you walk in then get mad when people try to order there? We tried to order in person and the staff member literally walked away from us, telling us “we’re at capacity”. We had to find someone else who explained the process of finding a table and mobile ordering but we could not get the app to work. Finally someone agreed to actually take our order at the register. They told us they were running behind ok that’s fine it’s spring break. After 40 mins we still did not have our 1 meal. All the tables around us waiting just as long. All we ordered was a chicken finger basket and milkshake. We were over it and asked for a refund. “Sorry about that” is all the manager said. Solutions: 1) have a queue set up outside and before you let people in and explain the process. 2) turn off the menu board inside, it just confuses people. 3) don’t act like the world is ending when someone is having issues with your app and wants to order in person. 4) if your kitchen is hitting 40 minute ticket times for fried food, stop letting more people order food. 5) Check in with your staff, this system is clearly flawed and theyrw taking out their frustrations...
