final Drop is dope. Marvelous
we have visited this in off season so it was only 10 minutes wait for us. Lucky us :) as people have waited even 2-3 hours for this ride in peak season
Each boat holds plenty of people. when it starts, the Jurrasic Park theme music, and when the gate opens, you get goosebumps. The beginning is a little boring, where dinosaurs are emerging from water or bushes, but the atmosphere is great and kids seemed to love it. you will feel the fire heat. You get squirt by water no matter where you sit. Then after you go off the path into the raptor containment area where you can hear a panicked voice telling you to turn around. The tiny dinosaurs are eating an employee's shirt as you go underneath a shaking cage that emits enraged velociraptor sounds.
The last corner takes you straight into the path of a T-rex that looms out of the fog. The ride eventually raises you up to the top of the control tower and from there to escape the Tyrannosaurus Rex you are dropped from a height with a splash. the climb is in totally dark so you don't know how big the drop would be. that was fun. The finale is fantastic and what really makes this water ride special.
I have read many reviews where people are saying you 'll get wet/soaked completely. See if you are front, chances are you 'll get wet, but not completely and no, you won't be soaked in water. I was at 3rd row and there was just a splash of water. I have carried our ponchos with me but if you don't carry, its still fine.
There is a great observation area outside the ride at the water drop and i have taken few...
Read moreas with other areas of this park, this ride is absolutely brilliant in theory but is let down by a lack of maintenance. some of the dinos and set look faded. on the plus side they all still work.
on the day i went the cart my batch was meant to be boarding broke and the lap restraints would not rise when the staff tried to open them in the dock. not normally a problem but this was in torrential rain, so the other group (along with all of the groups behind them) where stuck in their carts for a good 10-15 minutes in the rain. then again, i guess it is a water ride, and mechanical failures are difficult to avoid.
On the plus side the ride attended on the day i went was absolutely brilliant. i had forgotten my pin code for my locker and not only did he help me get it open but he also gave me some tips of good place to go around the park. TWICE. possibly the best guy i met whilst i was there and i really wish i could remember his name, but my sleep deprived brain is just giving me an error.
regardless of the floors i have mentioned this is still one of my favorite rides at the park and if i ever return it is one that is on my list to return to for sure. just be careful of the soak zone near the cafe. i stood there and i looked like i had been for a bath. ;-)
also, that attended told me they're getting new lockers in a refurbish soon, and i think he might have said they were refurbishing some of the rest of the ride as well. if so its likely it would be to fit in with Jurassic world more. only time...
Read moreThis ride was very surprising to me. I do not regret getting on it, it was a lot of fun. It is basically a very relaxing ride on water the whole time, except that there is a drop at the end. I don't like big rollercoasters, but there is a place where you can watch this ride's drop (and get close to it in order to get splashed) and I had seen it and thought it wasn't too bad. WRONG! The drop was definitely intense. But considering that the rest of the ride was super slow and relaxing, I actually think that it is a fun surprise and, since it's only one time, it isn't that bad. Depending on where you are sitting, you could get just a little wet or completely soaked. I got just a little wet but my boyfriend got soaked. Other than that, during the ride, you get to see dinosaurs, nice decor that is very reminiscent of the movies and get splashed with a little bit of water. It was a cute and interesting ride, although I feel like it does look at little bit dated, the dinosaurs look very much like robots. Maybe it if was more recent they could have looked a little more realistic. Still fun and would recommend. Plus, I don't know if there is usually a long line to take this ride, but when we went it wasn't that hot outside (about 18 degrees) and there was no line at all! So...
