Croissant Moon is an often passed by hidden bakery right at the front of Universal’s Islands of Adventure! If you’re wanting a coffee that’s not Starbucks, or a different sweet pick me up this is your place!
Along with coffee options such as lattes, cappuccinos, and macchiatos, there are wide spanning displays with just about every dessert and carb you could hope to have. Muffins, eclairs, cake slices, cookies, brownies, brookies, and I’m not even naming a third of what’s there! But I would be careful in your dessert selection because some desserts are, not great.. they sit in that display case all day and are mass processed, hopefully you get what I’m saying.
And don’t worry, if you want a really meal to go with your caffeine and sugar, they have that too! There are some panini sandwich options, and from my experiences with paninis at other restaurants in the park I think they are actually pretty good!
I tried a toasted marshmallow iced latte from here and at first, to be honest I thought it was gross. But, the more I drank the more I actually liked it. It’s definitely a strong coffee with a lot of flavoring. I’d probably get a more plain coffee next time but it was worth a shot, or else I’d ask for less flavoring which is something I usually do at any coffee place anyways.
Croissant Moon also has a lovely little outdoor seating area that has prime viewing of people watching, which is beyond entertaining at a giant theme park. This is a great and quint park...
Read moreThere was one person ahead of me when I went in, all she ordered was a coffee. The one woman was running all over behind the counter like she was real busy, just to get the coffee. I asked if their turkey sandwich had bacon on it and she said “yes” and left for 8 minutes and then came back and added $1.69 charge to my sandwich. I asked again if it’s not included in the sandwich then I didn’t want the bacon, hence why I asked in the first place. She’s like “ugh well you said you wanted it!” and ran into the back of house and is like “she doesn’t want the bacon anymore!” The guy comes out and they have a whisper conversation and laughed and looked at me and then finally charged me and got my food. All I ordered was pre-made food that’s in the cold case in the front! My order took so long, two parties left the line because it was taking so long. All that for one singular slice of turkey on the croissant. Disappointing. After allllllll of that, the lady that was originally in front of me finally got her...
Read moreThis was a good place to get some free cups of cold water. However, there were no vegan food options here besides a fruit cup (which is hardly filling), so if you are vegan, steer clear.
Croissant Moon Bakery is all about eats that are easy, fast, and fresh. So I would recommend adding a PB&J sandwich, or other nutbutter-and-jelly sandwich to the menu: it's fast, easy, fresh, and better yet— cheap!
A PB&J would also be comfort food for picky kids in general that would like something familiar to eat. Even teens and adults may want a PB&J to feel nostalgic or find comfort in it.
7% of the American population is vegan, for reasons varying from religious, health, environmental, ethical, and more. People come from all around the world to visit Universal, so to have at least one filling vegan option here would be great for them as well, and profitable.
I’m giving this place a 1 star review to gain attention to this matter— I’ll give it 5 stars when vegans have a more substantial food option...
