I have been coming to this park since I was a child. That's nearly 40 years worth of visits and it's always remained the same. Obviously they've upgraded/modernized the playground equipment but they haven't added any more concrete to take away from the natural landscape in which I love. The city maintains the grounds well. I see them there at least once a week. They could visit more frequently but they're there emptying the trash bins, picking up any trash that's on the ground, the bathrooms are clean, the sidewalks/parking lot are clean, etc. I love the atmosphere here. It's always remained a favorite of mine. It's always quiet and serene during the weekdays. When in season on you can see and hear the crowd cheering for the Boone Braves games. It's a great place to take the kids! Completely covered with massive oak trees & plenty of shade. They do have a couple covered picnic/BBQ areas that are available for use. Clearly the municipality spent good money building it, but it borders on useless because everything is too small. I’m only 6’ which is a pretty normal height. But I can’t hang from a single pull up bar, they’re all too short. The one set of parallel bars are so short that my knees hit the ground at the bottom of a dip. What sort of park workout are you doing if you can’t do dips...
