So many Pizzerias love to call themselves "The best pizzeria in town" but most of them can't live up to their claims... but finally there is a True Familiy owned and operated Pizzeria that can live up to and Own that title (and the family is really from Brooklyn and Long Island) of Truly being "The Best Hand-Tossed Pizzeria in Town".!!! "Pizzeria Del-Rio Italian Resturant" is the place for a true hand-tossed/water-flour dough pizza with a fresh family recipe homemade tomato sauce.!!! The family that owns and operates Del-Rio (Husband, Wife and Daughter) came to Orlando from Brooklyn/Long Island in the mid 90s and opened up thier first Orlando based restaurant in Casselberry and then to the East-downtown area on 50 where they are presently... We walked in today for a late lunch with a friends recommendation that we have to try thier menu (we have always preferred to support the local businesses so we said "absolutely". Tucked away in the South/West corner of the Colonial Landing Plaza (St Rd 50 and Maguire corner behind the UPS store), we were greeted Immediately by the owners wife and seated by thier daughter Leighann, going over the menu, we were impressed by the simplicity of the menu and thier excellent selection of Italian fare without being overbearing or presumptuous.!!! We ordered the Garlic Knots (customized with fresh mozzarella baked on top) and Marinara as an appetizer, a personal pizza Bianca, a bowl of freshly made Italian Spinach Eggdrop soup with Tortellini and the Shrimp Parmigiana with Spaghetti and a side of fresh Focaccia bread and Olive Oil... In between, we were intently enjoying the Garlic Knots and Marinara, and the main course was served in a very timely and professional manner by Leighann.!!! ...between sharing our plates and with each bite, we were all highly impressed with everything.!!! ...from the temperature to the delicate seasoning and the perfect firmness of the shrimp, nothing was overwhelming each other, so with every bite, everything on each one of our plates was savoured and truly enjoyed with every individual and delicate flavour in the way a true family style Italian dinner should be enjoyed and "Satiated" and homemade by a true Italian chef who knows how to make someone smile with thier culinary skills.!!! We will most definately be coming back here to start our tour of thier menu and enjoying every bite for...

I don’t even know where to start, but this was hands down the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. I ordered garlic bread, and what I received was a sad, flavorless piece of bread with no garlic flavor whatsoever—just butter. How do you mess up garlic bread? It was honestly just bread and butter, and for $5, it was an absolute ripoff.
To make matters worse, when I called to politely ask for a refund, the owner was beyond rude. He hung up on me multiple times, and after a few attempts, he told me to come into the store to get my money back. When I arrived, I was handed a $5 bill with the owner’s attitude matching the terrible food—he shoved the cash in my face and told me not to come back. And if that wasn’t enough, I was then cursed out in front of other customers, with the owner shouting nasty comments at me, while his staff was casually recording the whole ordeal.
When I asked for the owner’s name, no one would give it to me—not even the owner himself. I was treated like I was the problem for simply asking for a refund for bread that was completely inedible. The owner even had the audacity to say that because he made the garlic bread, it had to be good. Clearly, that was far from the truth.
This place was shocking from start to finish. Never have I encountered such disrespect, especially over something as basic as garlic bread. If you care about customer service, quality, or just having a peaceful dining experience, do not waste your time or money here. Worst experience I’ve ever...
Read moreI am visiting Orlando from Portland, Oregon, and after asking the employees where I am staying about a good Italian restaurant, many recommended Del-Dio. They were not wrong at all!
I ordered the Sicilian style pizza, and ordered it with pepperoni, ham, and half the amount of cheese (I don't like cheese). The Sicilian style has a thick crust, which I love over a thin crust. The staff were very nice, and explained it would take a little longer with the thicker crust. I had no problem with that, and appreciate their honesty. When it was brought to my table my eyes almost fell out of my head it was so much bigger than I thought!
The crust was perfect--crispy on the outside and tender--not soggy on the inside. It was covered to all sides with both pepperoni and ham! And for me there was the perfect amount of red marinara sauce. The amount of cheese was perfect.
There was no way I could eat all of it in one sitting, and to be honest leftover pizza straight from the fridge is the BEST breakfast. When I explained that I was staying in a hotel and couldn't fit a box into the little fridge, they were glad to wrap the leftovers in foil small enough to fit the little fridge.
The food here was excellent and the were pleasant, real people. I definitely recommend Del-Dio to all of you fellow...
