EDIT: I again had to remove a star. I drive an hour to go here because they used to be great. I once gave them a 5 star review but they have steadily went downhill. I went there on Saturday around 1pm and the waiters were sitting on their phones. It was almost like I inconvenienced them by walking in. I was given a table and ordered my usual P6. I asked for a water, because the waiter didn't ask if I wanted a drink... Once my food was ready a different waiter delivered it. At this point my water glass was about half full. He didn't offer to refill it. I generally like pho with some spice. At no point did either waiter come by the table to ask how it was or refill my drink. A table nearby also commented on the lack of service. I took a picture of the waiters sitting on their phones. Beyond that, the pho here used to be the best in the area but even that has slipped. The broth lacked aromatics. It by no means was the worst I've had but after driving an hour I was very disappointed. I used to come here nearly every weekend but I can no longer justify that.
I'm sorry that I had to edit my review to only 4 stars. The service was still good but not as great as it once was. They were out of limes which was a bit disappointing and they only gave about half a handful of sprouts. When I got the bill they had overcharged $1 vs the menu price so unfortunately I adjusted my tip accordingly. That said, the broth was very flavorful but the protein seemed a bit lacking. In the past there were large pieces of eye round but this time they were much smaller. I still love this place and am willing to drive nearly an hour to visit but if I do it a few more times and the quality is the same I can get this quality closer to my house. I come here because of the quality that I have come to expect. I'm planning to come back with my family next weekend and I hope I can revise this review to 5...
Read moreSo the food here is good. Not Amazing, but good. The restaurant is Super Clean, and the service was VERY fast. These are the factors that saved me from rating it 2stars. I am rating this so low because of few reasons. First and foremost I told the server about an Egg Allergy that my daughter had, and there was very little help/suggestions. More importantly when I ordered the Chicken (C5 on the menu) it came out with a house salad that had Mayonnaise in it. When I asked the server if it had Mayo, she didn't know, then when she came back, she told me that it did, and said, uhh... I am sorry. No offer for a new dish no visit to the table by a Manager. I don't care how good the restaurant can be. If you can't get an Allergy right you can possibly KILL someone. Thankfully my daughter is only midly allergic. But as I am in the industry this is a major faux pas. The minor things that affected my rating is no kids menu, and when asked for an extra plate it I was forgotten about, and had to ask again. Also after pulling the Mayo ridden salad off of my daughters plate and onto a napkin, it merely remained on the table on a napkin along with the other napkins/wipes I used to remove any Mayonnaise remnants. Also when I asked for the Iced black coffee, I was not advised it would be strong I was straight out told that I shouldn't get it. Personally I feel as though I may have been prejudiced against, and probably wouldn't like the strong taste of the coffee. I insisted on getting it, and it was delicious. (Yes it is very strong and sweet, so a warning is nice, but please don't make up my mind for me). In summary this was my true experience. Service was friendly and very, very fast, and the food was good (as I said earlier about B/B+) all in all, chances are they will not have my repeat business, not worth going back if I can't trust you with an Allergy or a simple...
Read moreAs an experienced Vietnamese food lover, these reviews are paid for sure. Everything is absolutely horrendously done. Please don't go to this restaurant if you value your tongue at all.
Edit: Instead of asking why I thought the food is bad, the owner decided to question my legitimacy for posting the review. From the passive-aggressive attitude, you can tell a lot already, but fine. (The reply was deleted, how superficial now.) I've went to at the very least 20 different vietnamese restuarants, all around. There are some restuarants with worse food, of course, but being "better than the worst" is absolutely not the same as "good".
Food: Refrigerated-for-days overdone Chicken, easily-snapped noodles, leathery rubbery beef, store-bought low-quality over-sweetened thai tea, surprisingly-dry fruits and veggies that were obviously frozen for a long time, and last but not least the cold supposely-hot-dishes (at least microwave it Imao). Oh yeah, forgot to mention the salad and calamari that are too sweet.
Service: The server came over 4 times asking whether I was done selecting, and with each time her tone became more irritated. Mon dieu! Leave me alone and give me at least a minute to see what your restuarant even offers. Acting busy when there was only 1 other table, come on.
Decoration: Sure, as you walk in, you can see that there's an ancient traditional feel. But what the hell is with the flashing disco light on the other side of the resturant!? If you are going to have a party, at least turn of the goddam light when nobody is using it! The restroom entrance is also unnecessarily blocked by a piece of dirty cloth that I'm forced to touch, yes, during the pandemic.
Thank you for reading,...
