Stay Still Studio — Local services in Orlando

I want to start by saying I’ve supported this artist/shop owner since January 2021, even going as far as recommending him to friends and family after moving out of the area for two years. So it’s disappointing that things ended this way.

I recently got a tattoo at this studio that was misspelled — despite me providing the correct spelling in both our DMs and on the waiver. While I won’t name the artist because I understand he made a genuine mistake, my issue ultimately became with the shop owner, Hector.

After the artist offered either to fix the tattoo or give a partial refund, I chose the refund because I no longer felt comfortable proceeding. I was refunded only $50 — just my deposit, not even the tip. When I brought the issue to Hector, I expected a responsible resolution, but instead he told me, “This is a mutual error,” and that “I should have double-checked the stencil and design.”

Despite my understanding that mistakes happen and my willingness to take partial responsibility, the response felt dismissive. I originally asked for only a partial refund ($150/$235), but was told “that would be a full refund,” which they then refused. Only after I mentioned getting the law involved, did Hector agree to return my full payment.

It’s unfortunate it had to reach that point, especially after years of loyalty and support. I hope this feedback encourages better accountability and customer care...
