We had passed Tipsy Taco several times trying to find somewhere to eat and the other places we were interested in had at least an hour and half wait so we turned around and went back. I wish we would have just went there to begin with! We were able to walk right in and be seated! Atmosphere was fabulous and spanish island like according to my youngest lol but The service was impeccable and the menu was to die for! Super friendly cook who delivered the extra bacon to our table quickly on the fly. My husband and oldest daughter had the double stack burger and fries....(I had a little taste!) My daughter loved it! And my husband being the connoisseur of burgers and frequenting the area several times a year says it is the best in the area. And he questions why he hadnt been before. It is on his list to go every time he comes into town now! My youngest daughter not having an acquired taste beyond the kids menu she highly approves of the chicken tenders and tries, as well as the salsa and chips! 1000 star review she says.....I had the Blackened Shrimp bowl and it was phenomenal! I also had "The Cadillac" of margaritas with salt instead of sugar and it was on point! Delicioso! I wish I would have this meal once a week! We will definitely be going back! Highly recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh we also tried the cream crab dip and chips....it did not...
Read moreThis place is a roller coaster. Some time ago, the kitchen was known to fall short. Then, a year ago, things improved. Then things fell back off. When you have a location a stone's throw from the ocean, even a bird brain knows a higher price will float for entrees if those entrees are of quality. Instead, what you get is Tijuana Flats pricing on kitchen quality that makes Subway seem appetizing.
As for service, we went for karaoke, and were trapped ordering drinks from a waitstaff member more enamored with rolling forks in napkins than keeping glasses full. The bartender was loyal to turf, and referred us to our waitress for service. Not awesome by any measure. If you have a table, gods help you. Just sit at the bar.
As for food, we had a burrito as well as a burrito bowl, and frankly, it was more rice than anything. If it's a matter of supply cost, charge another $8 per entree and have some freaking meat in there! As for the meat, the beef was pure vinegar in flavor. I dunno if this is cost cutting on meat cut quality, or just newbro antics, far as seasoning. And it hardly matters. Your entree will hit the wall at 4oz of meat. Make that make sense at a location exclusive to the oceanside.
Pours for drinks aren't bad, though. You'll just have to wait a while to have...
Read moreOur last night on Vacay Spring Break 2025 at Ormond Beach. We started out for Jimmy Hula's but they didn't have salsa!
This restaurant was so extremely laid back with some outside table service. We went inside and found a high top in the rear near the bar. Deacon ordered Sprite, Kayla Diet Coke and Saige & I ordered half / half Iced Tea and Saige a regular tea.
The restaurant has very interesting artwork on the walls that has inspired Saige to deprecate in her Art Book. Saige wanted Chips & Salsa *which is a firey- heavy spiced Pepper salsa extremely thick like paste and very good! She also wanted Mozarrella Sticks. Deacon took the Steak Quesadilla with French fries. He absolutely LOVED! We had to slow him down because he was gobbling them down.
Kayla went with a Large Over-Stuffed Burrito and I gladly chose the 3 Chicken Street Tacos with side of Black Beans and Rice!! The food is extremely amazing!!! Definitely going back without hesitation! Our waitress was SUPER AMAZING! She checked on us regularly! The chips and Queso Sauce Deacon got was extremely good. They even brought him a sample before he ordered. He gave everything a Big Thumbs!!! If you are in the Ormond and Daytona Beach ever, try it out!!! You will not be sorry...
