reserved for week of 16 to 23 nov 2013. when we booked i had specifically requested ocien front or view. we we're given condo #4017. street view. a cave. no windows in the master bedroom. few windows or outside views except from second bedroom and living room. no view of the ocean. within the first couple of hours o checking in 3 of our 4 had stepped on broken glass. reception had the bright idea to send maintenance to pass the vac. why offer to do it now when it should have been done before we arrived. couldn't deliver. reception said they we're booked solid but offered another apartment @ $140 per night. figured we'll stay in our dirty cave with few windows and no view and save our money we already spent to reserve. no cooperation whatsoever from reception. it's like sorry we couldn't give you what you asked for so here's something else @ $140 per night. (but we're booked solid) so rooms are cleaned barely. accumulations of dirt & dust on base boards abounds. help and or cooperation from reception, well I didn't see it. will I come here again? NO! I will probable add more details later. we just started our week @ this place. so far it's gone downhill since yesterday. something positive to say? yeah! pool and Jacuzzi + deck we're clean and functional. now that our vacation is over. here's the update. kitchen was small. when you have the dishwasher open to empty it you have to step over the door to put dishes away. no room to move around. we slept 4 comfortably though in the master bedroom you feel cooped up there being no windows. the condo was quiet. there was a nice game room with pool table, ping pong and table hockey. so after all is said and done, the condo we were given was quiet and was well supplied. security personel were present on the pool deck, lobby and the parking area. on the down side the condo we had lacked light, was barely cleaned and had a small kitchen. put that with the lack of cooperation from reception and we left rested but not satisfied...
Read moreIncredibly disappointed in what is going on here currently. We are 30 year owners of about 15 units, we love this place. The current management has completely and one hundred percent dropped the ball on all fronts including safety, friendliness and security. We were robbed here on the pool deck while swimming in the pool during a day visit. We checked in, chose a table, noticed some people in the hot tub that were inside what was supposed to be a SECURE area, we figured they were guests at the resort. As soon as we walked away from the table and around a corner, they grabbed some bags and jumped back over the fence where they had SNUCK in with no questions asked. There are live feed cameras pointing directly at the hot tub as well as the rest of the pool deck and the parking lots...It was EXTREMELY difficult to get management to dp anything including review the tapes for the police report. They are unable or unwilling to keep your belongings safe.
As of yesterday, Jun 4, 2021, their current policy is to keep direct family members out of the resort area, even when given permission to check in for the day by the deed holder as well as explicitly noted by an employee during a pre check-in call. However, they are perfectly willing to allow people to jump the fence, enjoy the facilities, steal our belongings and go on their way.
The current management, including and especially Walter Nettles, were unbelievably rude, actually walking away for a personal phone call during a conversation I was having with him at the front desk of the resort that he is supposed to be "managing".
Walter Nettles has directly lost RCI generations of future sales. Until a time when he has resigned from his position, no further units will be purchased nor will any extra vacations be booked through RCI.
DO NOT STAY HERE; Management is unwilling to help with basic...
Read moreThis review was from last year- I'm realizing I never posted it! Wow. I cannot say enough about this resort! My family stays every year, owning a timeshare for a week here. My partner has become disabled in recent years and requires a service dog to survive. The issue we have found with this? Fake service dogs have made life impossible. Left and right, condos and hotels don't know the right questions to ask and let fakes in, allowing our dogs to be attacked or giving real service dogs a bad name. Every time we stay anywhere, we are so worried there will be issues. Some hotels refuse service dogs. Ocean east? They handled her so professionally and amazingly, I was blown away. They asked the correct questions and were very active in being sure she was a service dog, and knew their service dog laws very well. They happily discussed her tasks with us and happily provided anything she needed. On the deck, they often checked in to ask if she needed water, or anything else. The staff all ignored her well and didn't interact with her. There was an incident where another holder complained she "wasn't a real service dog" because she "wasn't with a trainer" (I am, in fact, a trainer, but told her I wasn't, as I was not on business but on vacation, not that that matters) , which as a complaint, was quickly shut down. They were fast to advocate for us and say we were allowed to be there, and our dog was medical equipment, and that her concern was unfounded. We felt genuinely safe staying here, and faced 0 of the discrimination we've grown so used to. Ocean East knows their laws, and puts them in place to keep real service dog teams safe! Thank you Ocean East! Cannot wait to come back to you guys this year! The condo was also clean, spacious, gorgeous, and there were a ton of very family fun activities that were very organized!...
