I do not recommend staying at this hotel if you're part of a minority group. We are Hispanic and all I can say is that we felt targeted. Our whole stay from check in to check out was discriminatory. They kept looking at us as if we were going to steal or cause problems. There was a lot of lack of communication as to what was and was not allowed. We had planned to grill out in the beach but it started to rain so we took it to our balcony. Mind you, we saw they had grills there and since COVID we weren't allowed to use so we brought our own. There were no problems until we got a call saying that we would be charged for using the grill on the balcony since the other guest complained. But why not warn us and tell us we could not use it if in the beginning we weren't told it was not allowed and you saw us walk in with a grill. When we tried to mend our mistakes which we talked to the manager about ( the only helpful and professional person there by the way) and the problems were resolved. Well, so we thought. The second shift manger called us mid afternoon to tell us we were going to get kicked out the next day not on the day we had already reserved for and paid for. Again we went to speak to them in person and they just said that they would let us know if we would be able to stay until our reserved check out date. She never got back to us until so coincidentally we were coming back to the hotel and she was leaving for the day. Then she informed we could stay. For me this was very unprofessional and lack of communication. Not even a few hours later we get a call saying that we needed to pay for a rug that we damaged while trying to take the grill out to the beach because we were told we could not have it in the balcony. So as we tried to take it out the wheel got stuck on the rug and the charcoal fell. We tired to pick it up asking for a broom, which we were denied. We were also denied the access to the gate to take the grill back down to the beach area. We were offered 3 free nights for any day we wanted and at any Homes2 hotel but we still needed to pay $500 for the rug. We did not get any email confirming the free nights nor was it on my Hilton Honors account so to me it was just to shut us up and not make a complain about the situation. Later they contacted us and said it was only $449 yet my bank statement says $500. As I read in the other review they do not tell you that it was only one parking pass per room and mind you 6 people for the suite so we had 2 cars. We had to park at a 24/7 restaurant or pay the $30 for parking per day. To which we were told on the last day that we could park at the building across the street because it was owned by the hotel. We also had another Hispanic family comment that they were also being treated wrongfully so I understood that this is more of an ethnicity problem rather then anything else. Again I do not recommend staying here at all. Below I have attached the picture of the rug. I do not understand if the rug was so damaged why is it still being used for the other guest to walk on. Again for us this was just an act of...
Read moreJune, 2024. Update from my last review. Nothing has changed. And that's a good thing! When they call it Home2 they mean it. It really feels like a second home. The staff is so welcoming. Britney is still there and as pleasant as always, and everybody makes you feel welcome. The room has a great view and the breakfast is still delicious. The hot coffee and tea varieties in the lobby are always there. The pool is clean and everything is so well kept up. This time I noticed lots of people with dogs. But every dog was well-behaved and on a leash. This hotel is for people who want to enjoy a quiet relaxing stay with everything you might want to visit close by. And then you come back to your peaceful home with the beautiful view!
August 2023: Wow what a find!!! We had family in from out of state and wanted to do a beach trip. We were looking for a home away from home and this fit the bill in every way! From the minute we got there Britney, Kristin, and Leah at the front desk were all so pleasant and helpful! I had requested a room away from the elevator but the only thing they had available was directly across from the elevator. That turned out to be a non-issue! This hotel was filled with families and people who wanted an enjoyable, quiet and peaceful vacation. I didn’t hear a sound from anybody in the rooms on either side or anyone coming or going from the elevator, it was so quiet! When we went down for breakfast, Ralph was incredible. He acted as if it was his own personal restaurant, welcoming everyone, cleaning up every tiny spill or crumb and the whole breakfast experience was so pleasant, with delicious fresh food and fruit. In the afternoon there was a storm and lightning. Everyone had to clear the beach and Dane in maintenance locked everything up quickly for our safety. For those that didn’t understand, he took time to explain the dangers of lightning in Florida and people were able to relax and enjoy the lobby until the danger passed. Dane quickly mopped up the water and sand from everyone, and as soon as it was safe, he unlocked the doors and out we all went to enjoy the lovely pool and the beach. There’s a very nice fire pit and a hot tub as well. Security at this hotel is exceptional and we felt very safe. You will not get in this hotel without a room key and they watch everything very closely. The only complaint, and it’s a minor one, is the sliding farm door to the bathroom. It does not provide privacy and there’s no way to lock it or close it tight. Other than that, the view was beautiful, the staff was incredible, the food delicious, and the room perfectly accommodating in every way with a nice size refrigerator, all the utensils we needed etc. I now understand why it’s called Home2, because it really felt like our second home. We will...
Read moreFirst time at this hotel. For the positives I would have given five stars but the negatives pulled the review way down. Positives: Rooms are beautiful view is amazing. Many staff members always around working hard. Great breakfast. Hotel very clean. Negatives: Front desk needs better organization. Checked on Friday. Saturday we asked for our room to be serviced. They never came and we ran out of wash clothes I called down to let them know and they did bring up more wash clothes. Sunday I called down at 9:30 am asking for room service for the day. By 2pm still no room service and I asked a gentleman working on our floor with cart but he said they were not housekeeping but he would let them know that we still needed room serviced. Now it’s Monday morning we are checking out and our room was not serviced all weekend. We have overflowing trash in our room from Friday. We have a heaping pile of dirty towels and wash clothes that have been collecting in the bathroom for three days. Next issue, we have been staying at hotels on the water in Daytona and Ormond since 1988 and we have never had to wait until 4pm to check in. Every hotel has that checkin time but they see we are there at noon or one and they get the room ready. Or they organize the night before to see which rooms have checkins the next day. When we came at noon we were told room wasn’t ready but we could wait in the lobby or the pool area. We were never told we’d be waiting four hours. We left for lunch I called hours later and still not ready I asked to be called when it was ready. They wrote my phone number down wrong twice and still never called the right number. When we came at noon front desk should have just told us it would actually be 4pm so that we could have planned our day better. Next issue, when we checked in we said there would be two vehicles and we we were told when the second vehical came to ask for parking pass. The next day the vehical came and I asked for pass and only then was I informed it would be $10 a day and I’d need to come the next morning at 7:30am to request a pass for the next day. So the next morning I asked Armani at the front desk for the next day parking and she said the parking never was registered and that’s why cars are having to park across the street because parking passes aren’t getting registered by the person we talked to the day before. Finally got it all figured out but it was just such a hassle and I’ve never been to a hotel that was this strict about parking. Monday morning I get a call by Armani confirming my noon checkout at 8:20am… I was dead asleep. She said she wanted me to know that she wrote it down in her notes. Management please organize your front desk staff. They are pleasant and hard working but they need...
