Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Osage Beach

I was in this horrific establishment today. First off I have been a server for over 30 years. I came in about 4:20pm there were 3 tables in the whole building. A server sweeping some booths and another server taking care of a table. No host no bartender. We stood and waiting approx 10 mins with no one acknoledging our existence. Both servers looked at me at least 5 or more times. An older couple walked in after we stood waiting to be seated for over 10 min. Then finally a man came out from the back. Said sorry for the wait it was shift change. The gentleman sat us at a dirty table. Crumbs and it was slightly sticky. About I’d say 3 to 4 min later the server came took our order. Then when we received our appetizer won ton tacos I asked her for some chicken lates so we could both eat case they are messy.the phone Rang and my server answered the phone. It was someone wanting a to go order she told the person on the phone our bartender takes to go orders and she’s busy right now she will get to you when they can. But the person I could tell didn’t want to wait. By the way I never saw the bartender in question ever! So she proceeded to take the order. The person must’ve been asking alot of questions the girl was rolling her eyes getting very snappy with the customer. Saying things like you can have salads and a choice of two sides. Then said you can choose what ever sides you want you have options like I already said in a super rude way. Then she told them the total and told her when she pulled up to come inside. The customer wanted curbside and the server said and I Quote it’ll be longer than 25 minutes because I’m not the bartender and I’ve got stuff to do so you’ll have to wait until I’m ready to come out. I was shocked at how absolutely rude and disrespectful this server was. If it was my place I’d would’ve fired her on the spot. First you are in customer service it is your job to take care of what ever the customer needs without being that way!!!! That right there is why Applebees in Osage beach is always slow…. Terrible just terrible!! If you had heard this conversation between the server and customer it was upsetting to hear people treating other people that way. Over them wanting to buy dinner from you and then be so rude like they are nothing. They are the reason you have a job. No...

Update: 1.26.24 Kaylee was our server, she was quick, competent and professional. A++ Back again, l had the $21 rib eye special w/waffle fries and garlic mashed potatoes. Steak was a perfectly cooked A++. Fries were decent, mashed potatoes were tragically bland. Bourbon steak ( B+) was delicious as were the toppings but the mashed potatoes were bland and forgettable. The rock stars tonight were the the double crisp, fried wings! Hot, crispy, meaty and perfectly cooked! Pricey but well worth it!! A++++

12.22.23 Ali was our server, and she was low key, but on point. She brought our drinks right away, and she quickly brought our pretzel and beer cheese appetizer. (A+)

I ordered a bourbon burger, w/waffle fries, perfectly cooked to med rare (A++). My husband had the $21 rib eye special w/mashed potatoes and cheesy broccoli. The veggies were a bit overcooked but the steak was A+. Our server checked in on us often, the vibe was bright & festive, all & all a great dinner. Thanks Applebee's!

Had a lovely dinner last night and was totally surprised by all the great promos! Our server Sam was super friendly and knowledgeable, and had she not told me about the $6 HUGE margaritas, I might have missed out! We ordered from the two for $20 menu, my husband ordered an American Burger w fries, and I ordered the Meat and Potato Mountain. Included was an appetizer of which we ordered the onion rings. They were crunchy, hot and very good, a nice generous portion. My husband's burger was cooked pink, per his request and my mountain of meat and potatoes was interesting. More like chunks of steak, cooked rare per my request, sitting on a mound of delicious mashed potatoes and covered in an absolutely righteous brown mushroom gravy. Usually gravies in restaurants can be very salty, this gravy, however, was totally on point. My margarita was as big as my head (and my head is huge), and we were stuffed for under $30. Sam was available but not intrusive, checked on us often, and the music was just right. recently visited Applebee's, and I have to say it was one of the most repulsive dining experiences of my life. From the moment I entered the restaurant, the atmosphere felt lackluster and uninspiring, but little did I know that was just the beginning of my ordeal.

Upon ordering my food, I had no idea that I would soon be served a side of bodily fluids. Yes, you read that correctly. It turns out that the kitchen staff at this particular Applebee's found it appropriate to garnish my meal with their saliva.

The appetizer arrived, and at first glance, it seemed reasonably presentable. But as I took my first bite, I immediately noticed an unpleasant taste and texture, as if something was off. When I inspected the food further, I discovered a clear sign of foul play—a distinctive glob of spit nestled amidst the otherwise innocuous ingredients.

I was absolutely disgusted and appalled. Not only had my dining experience been tarnished, but my health and well-being were put at risk by the blatant disregard for food safety standards. It is unimaginable that a supposedly reputable establishment like Applebee's would allow such abhorrent behavior to occur within its walls.

To make matters worse, when I approached the staff to address the issue, they displayed a shocking lack of concern. Rather than offering an apology or rectifying the situation, they dismissively shrugged off my complaint as if it were an everyday occurrence. This level of indifference and disrespect towards paying customers is absolutely unacceptable.

I strongly advise anyone considering dining at Applebee's to think twice. The sheer audacity of serving food tainted with spit speaks volumes about the lack of professionalism and hygiene standards in this establishment. Save yourself the money, the hassle, and the risk to your health, and seek out a more reputable and reliable dining option. You deserve better than this...
