This is THE best place to get street tacos! Small, double tortillas, filled w/meat, A++. I had tripa, extra crispy, lengua, and chicharron. The chile rellenos was huge and covered w/a homemade tomato sauce, light and not spicy. My husband loved his chicken fajitas, and the plate w/the sides was tasty! Our server David was on point, friendly, and efficient. A great dinner tonight, we'll be back very soon!
Another update: Food is still bomb and my mango margarita was deelish. The mixed fajitas were A+++!
Okay, another update to my last review...seems like some of the kinks from before have been worked out and our food was excellent. Yeah, yeah, I know it's not SoCal Mexican or even Tex-Mex style, but it's damn authentic for Missouri.
My husband had steak fajitas, they came sizzling hot and were very tasty. I find that a lot of the food we eat here in Missouri is under seasoned and under salted. Not this dish, it was A+! I had four of the mini-street tacos and I wasn't disappointed.
I had one lengua (tongue) tripa (tripe) pastor (marinated pork) and chicharron (deep fried pork chunks). My only complaint is that the meat was chopped so darn small you could barely see it but the tastiness of the tacos made up for it.
Our server Hector (silent H) was efficient and friendly but not overly so. The place was busy and it took us a bit to get our food but it was worth it. We will...
Read moreSergio’s is, by far, the best Mexican restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks; the other ones don’t even come close! I first came here as part of the final for my Spanish class over four years ago and I’ve been coming back ever since.
I’ve visited Mexico three times over the years and Sergio’s has it down to the “t.” The food is perfect. I always get the tacos al pastor (pork with pineapple) and they’re always freshly prepared and delicious. I haven’t been able to find them anywhere else.
They were extremely busy tonight but that is to be expected on a Saturday during the prime of the dinner hour. We waited quite a long time for our food, but it was worth the wait. Absolutely wonderful!
Since eating at Sergio’s over the past few years, I absolutely refuse to eat at Taco Bell ever again. This is the real deal and I encourage everyone to stop eating the Americanized Tex-Mex garbage and instead go and eat at Sergio’s for an authentic, home cooked...

We went inside and ordered our food to go. Once inside the restaurant, you’ll see it’s colorful and inviting. There are many vibrant depictions of cultural life everywhere. We placed our order with the man behind the front counter and he said we could wait the 10-15 minutes at the bar.
We saddled up to the bar expecting one of the 2 attendees would ask us if we’d like a drink - neither did during the time we waited.
We were told our order was ready by the man who took our order, he came and let us know.
The food looks appealing. It tasted good. The tacos, specifically the Al Pastor, are a little small, but we’re fine by me since I also ordered rice and beans. The fajitas serving was nice and a lot, but were supposed to include shrimp, but was left out. All in all the food ranked a good average ranking.
I would return here and try something different, but probably not sit...
