Five Guys — Restaurant in Oswego Township

I would have to disagree with the other reviewer as I think their burger is much tastier than the small burnt burger you can get at portillo's. The price is a bit more than something you can get at fast food places, but the quality is better. I always get a very juicy burger with flavor from five guys over the bland burger Portillo's has to offer.

I like that I can see how fresh the patties are and watch them being grilled over Portillos sticking in a boiler and watching it come out burnt half the time. Be warned that a burger is two patties and a little burger is one.

The fries are fresh cut potatoes judging by the fact you can still se the skin on them, which when twice baked gives it the right amount of crunch. They give you way more fries than humanly possible to eat and you for sure get more than what you paid for. I suggest that you buy a little fry for about two people, a small fry for 3-4 and a large for 5-6. I suggest that because they fill up the cup and then also toss in a full metal pans worth of fries.

Unlike Portillo's, Five Guys has one of those Coke Freestyle machines given the consumer tons of options on what they want to drink and the flavor they want. That alone beats out Portillo's which has limited soft drink options.

Don't get the allure? Pretty average burgers for way above average prices. Fries are well below average quality. My son and I each got a hamburger fries and a drink each...$28.00+..? Really? You can go to a gourmet burger place for a little less. I'd really rather have a Portillo's burger, Moo Yah, 9er's, even a freshly made Hardee's burger or a Whopper is tastier. I just don't get it. The atmosphere is just blah too. ?? How do they stay in business? Me and My girlfriend placed a online order planning on picking it up and taking it home, but when we walked in we were greeted by a very nice, young, tall black man(i’m sorry I didn’t get to catch your name but wanted some way to know who you are). He asked how we were doing as soon as we walked in with a genuine happy smile. So we chose to eat in as we had nothing else planned, after a couple minutes he came around and asked if we needed anything else, like a sit down restaurant. Very great customer service haven’t had someone ask me genuinely at a fast food place if i need help or anything else after being served.
