Mr. J's Hot Dogs & Gyros — Restaurant in Ottawa

This place had me confused when I pulled up. I was like is this a Mexican joint or a hot dog joint? Anyway kinda weird but it works I guess. Alright so the young girls at the counter were really polite and greeted us when we walked in. Place was nice and clean inside and organized. For the food now…it was good but not great and neither terrible. It was slightly awkward like the outside of the business. I got a 2 hotdog special Chicago style. One thing that bothered me was the diced tomatoes on it. Really you couldn’t put slices on it? Then the pickle on them was not good at all. No neon green relish but that’s ok was still good. Needed more onion and mustard on it as well. The hotdog itself was a quality dog. Kids just got hotdogs with ketchup and the same weird pickles on them. All combos came with fries and I was pleasantly surprised at how perfect the fries were fried. We also got an order of breaded mushrooms. Not the 1st time we've ordered but 3rd time it was a waste of money. We got a delivery we were told it would be there in 30 minutes took an hour+. Gyro plate - gryo meat barely warm & mostly 1 inch long pieces, fries cold, pita bread cold. Chicken salad- lettuce wilted, ranch dressing was like water & no flavor. Called the next day to tell them we were very disappointed with our order. The female "manager" said our food couldn't be cold. Admitted order didn't leave restaurant until 45 minutes after order was placed. She never apologized and gave my husband a hard time on the phone basically saying he was not telling the truth conversation lasted almost 5 minutes than she begrudgingly said "Well I guess I can give you 10% off your next order. Yes they were closing early on the 4th of July but if they couldn't or didn't want to deliver the food in a timely manner and at proper temperatures they should not have taken the order. We tried. We really did. We are very amicable people and aren't ones to be rude or disrespectful.

Ordered delivery after searching online for Mr. J's.

We were directed to door dash for delivery.

2 gyro plates, mozzarella sticks, a Greek salad, a burger, and 2 mini corn dogs.

Order received. No Greek dressing for the salad, no feta cheese for one gyro, and no tzatziki sauce for either gyro.

So we called. We got yelled at. We got put on hold. We were told "it's not our problem". We were told it was door dash's problem even though Mr. J's packaged the order.

So we called door dash and explained the situation. They told us that replacement items were on the way.

Items were delivered.

New Greek salad and 2 gyro platters.

Salad had dressing! Yay!

Gyros has tzatziki sauce! Yay!

Nothing had feta cheese.
