Steve's is the best bakery aka the "donut daddy" in this area hands down! We've been coming here for many years on our way to starved rock state park. The glazed raised are large and fluffy. The filled donuts are just that FILLED! The cake donuts are nicely dense and great with a hot cup of coffee. All ingredients are top quality. No oil residue on the donuts or the box! Nicely priced. They have a silver cabinet to the right just after you enter with day old items. I've purchased a few items and found they were just like fresh out of the counter! Only draw back is if you come after 10:30am on most days especially weekends there is not a big variety to choose from. Clean and a nice eating area with tables. Very important- THIS IS A CASH ONLY SHOP!!

Nevertheless, the strawberry and cream cheese, blueberry, and glazed strawberry filled donuts were quite the treat. The donuts were fresh, flavorful, and quite decadent! The atmosphere and customer service were ok. The parking lot needs work. I recall dodging some pretty deep pot holes upon entering.

Let's see......the reason we picked this place was because I saw it online while vacationing. I thought, why not check this place out. There were delicious looking pictures.....so why not. I did instantly did not feel comfortable when entering this place with my 2 boys, nephew and mom. I instantly got the urge that someone was watching me. Yep, a whole family of white people were looking at our every move. I am gonna assume it was because we were black in a white town. Nope, not assume. Pretty sure this why it was. The female behind thr counter wasn't rude but wasnt nice. It seemed like she was also looking like she was in shock of us coming to her store. Oh....by the way the donuts...

Worst ever! Why can you take orders for cake but not coffee cake? I needed 3 cheese for a surprise party. I was told my best option was to be there morning when you open. Well I was. And only 1 cheese was made. 1!!!! How knowing can you make only one when a customer calls and needs 3. Horrible customer service and a long time customer is now lost. I will NEVER use or recommend this bakery again. NEVER. And the onecake I got is now half the size as before due to “new packaging “. And more money. Horrible!!
