It’s really good but it has got more expensive over the years. Another reason why I gave 3 stars instead of five is because you now have to ask for a new bowl from your waiter instead of just being able to grab a new one whenever you’re ready like a couple years ago when I last came here. I’m sure dumb people ruined it for the rest of us by grabbing more than one bowl at a time or getting too much food and wasting it. Certain people ruin everything for the rest of us respectful folks. So that was disappointing. We came right before it got busy so we didn’t have any issue getting a new bowl brought to us by the waiter but I can imagine it gets annoying when it’s busy. At first it wasn’t busy for us at all and our stir fry bowls came out perfect. Then at the end it became really busy and on my last bowl I went up there to the grill and the entire grill was full, no big deal but they had to work fast because it was busy and I got someones shrimp and some mushrooms tossed into my section. I don’t eat either of those things so it was kinda gross to me. Just be mindful of this place if you have any food allergies and have them cook your food separately if possible. Maybe come when it’s not busy so this doesn’t happen to you and your bowl is perfect. Other than that, wonderful food and it’s fun to make the bowls. Miles was our waiter and he was great! He gave us the best service I’ve had in a long time and I will be back one day. He is a great waiter and should be promoted.

From the moment we stepped into BD’s Mongolian Grill, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that promised a delightful dining experience. And indeed, the food did not disappoint; every dish was a delicious journey of flavors that left us wanting more. However, what truly set this visit apart was the exceptional service provided by our waiter, Taye Taye’s customer service was unlike anything we’ve experienced. She was not only clear and precise in her communication, making sure our dining needs were met, but there was also an effortless grace in how she managed our table. It was evident that Taye possesses a hidden talent for making guests feel taken care of in a genuinely special way. Her attention to detail, proactive service, and warm demeanor went far beyond our expectations, enhancing our overall experience at the restaurant. It’s rare to encounter someone who not only excels in their role but also adds a personal touch that makes the dining experience memorable. I hope that Taye receives the recognition she truly deserves for her superior customer service. It’s individuals like her who elevate a good dining experience to an extraordinary one. We’ll certainly be returning, not just for the great food, but in hopes of being greeted by Taye’s exceptional service once again. Thank you, Taye, and BD’s Mongolian Grill, for such a remarkable evening!

I recently dined at Mongolian BBQ in Overland Park, Kansas, and the experience left a lasting impression on my taste buds. While the ambiance might not be the highlight, the interactive dining concept stole the show. The unique feature of choosing your preferred meats and having the chefs prepare them right in front of you added an exciting touch to the dining experience. The variety of meats available for selection, coupled with the chef's skillful preparation, resulted in a delightful array of flavors. The freshness of the ingredients and the mastery of the cooking process were evident in every bite. The ability to customize my plate with a diverse selection of vegetables and sauces added another layer of satisfaction to the dining experience. While the ambiance may not be the restaurant's strongest suit, the exceptional food and interactive cooking process make Mongolian BBQ a must-try for those seeking a delicious and entertaining dining adventure in Overland Park. If you're a fan of bold flavors and enjoy a bit of culinary theatre, this is a spot worth checking out.

Although the food is absolutely delicious here and the service was great, today bd's only gets a 2 star rating because of LACK OF PROPER CLEANING AND DISTANCING METHODS DURING COVID. As we were preparing our bowls and as we were seated and eating, we noticed that people are not staying 6 feet from each other (many, including employees, are right on top of each other at the food prep station, at the cooking station, in the kitchen area, etc.), not seated at a proper distance with tables between, and tables and chairs in the dining room are absolutely not being cleaned.properly. The food prep station was also not being cleaned properly, nor were guests being required to wear gloves during prepping of their own food, although we did that. I also noticed that the employees who were preparing other people's meals at the prep station did not change out their gloves, touched the same tongs and ladles everyone else without gloves did, and were carrying the food bowls to the cooking area with a thumb down in the food.

In addition to all that, the wrong food was delivered to our table, we realized it wasn't ours, the correct food immediately followed, we notified the person who brought it to us who then said, "Did you touch it?" and we responded with "no," so he took it up, said "I know where it goes," and took it to another table, placing it in front of the person WITHOUT TELLING THEM THEY HAD DELIVERED IT TO OUR TABLE MISTAKENLY AND GIVING THEM THE OPTION OF REMAKING THEIR FOOD.

Lastly, watching more than one employee wear their masks improperly and seeing how they clean the tables after guests leave, I know we won't be back. The table cleaning consisted of spraying a ton of some type of cleaner on top of the table, swiping at it quickly with an already sopping wet cloth (nothing even remotely thorough about this, as every part of that surface was not cleaned), swiping at only upper part of the seat back (not the actual sitting part, which had food in it as well as people do touch that part when getting up and down), and NOT ONCE were the sides of the tables touched with that cloth to wipe them down. The employee (middle-aged,larger woman, NOT a teenager!) who seated the next guests at the table next to us, wiped the food out of the chair into the floor with her bare hands, walked back to the hostess station, and never washed her hands or used hand-sanitizer. I watched her the whole way. Not safe at all.

Also, not all servers were wearing gloves. If you bring my food to my table, wear gloves and a mask. If you are refilling my drink, wear gloves and a mask. Lackadaisical at beat, still totally unsafe.

Needless to say, we will not be back until this is addressed and remedied. The food here is incredible because you get to prep it to your own liking, but it is absolutely not safe to eat here if every day is like what I witnessed last night. bd's, you disappointed me greatly in a time when so many of us are trying so hard to be safe but have a tiny bit of normalcy in our lives. The only reason you get a two is because of how good the food is, but your lack of care makes me wonder if I gave you too much this time. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat. I'm back to being terrified to eat out anywhere. We really should have gotten up and left immediately when we started noticing...

We typically enjoy BD's twice a year. Over the past years, the quality and service has declined. While the options on the self-service bar have improved, the bowl size and service has declined. Today, I was truly saddened at the way the cooks were treated. My son was standing at one spot, the person to left was ready for her sauce to be added. The cook picked up her sauce, pointed to my son's food and asked her 'is this yours?' She replied yes. Then, about a minute later she realized her mistake. She immediately spoke with me and my son, explaining her error. Then she explained to the cook, who explained so kindly that he did not speak English and got another cook to assist. She was instructed to get new sauce. I asked the manager guiding people to their spots if my son could have another bowl. He asked why and I explained. He rolled his eyes, said nothing, went to the back, retrieved a bowl and brought it back to me. As my son proceeded to prepare his bowl, the manager went back, and in front of everyone waiting for their food, proceed to berate the cooks. He yelled at the one who had been involved in the mix-up and told him he was not allowed to add sauce/plate anymore. Then he said, 'Anyone that doesn't speak English cannot plate.' There was one cook that seemed to be in charge, that was completely frustrated by the way they were being spoken to and was attempting to translate and still keep things moving. Everyone there was working so hard and the mistake was 100% the customer's fault, yet the blame was put on EVERYONE that did not speak English. This was cruel and unfair, but mostly, incredibly unprofessional. I do hope that this manager/person receives training on how to treat employees regardless of differences. An incredibly sad...

Was in the area and decided to give it a try. We went for the soup and salad and 1 grill bowl. I can say the waitress was great and helpful full of energy and great at giving us the run down on how it all works. We ordered a appetizer which was the crab rangoon. That’s when I got a little nervous about the food. It seemed like they re fried it so the inside was doughy and the mixture inside smelled just extra you could taste the fish taste. When we got up to the bar I was thinking about chicken but you could tell the chicken has been sitting in its container for awhile so it became a little discolored and chicken juices had started to become slime. That also went for the steak and pork everything seemed to have just been sitting out for awhile. So I stuck with vegetable options which is fine. I was little sad though as even the vegetables weren’t fully sliced or cut up so it took up a lot of room in the bowl which is already small so you can really fit a lot of veg or noodles. At the end I had to balance holding my bowl and then a separate small container with my sauce I lost a few veg and tofu. While the guys were great at cooking it up the brown rice that you can get as a option was just over cooked and dry. Soup options were also just not very appealing which I was looking forward to. Seemed just watered down and no potatoes in the potatoes soup lol. Oh well… it was an experience. Overall the food was very subpar I’ve been to Mongolian restaurants before and sadly this one just hit low. I think it could be better. The service was...
