UPDATE: After Posting this negative review of Coaches, Coaches decided to hire an attorney to send me a cease and desist letter and threatening to sue if I do not take this down. Hosted an engagement party here and was not happy with how coaches runs their restaurant. They like to needlessly tack on charges claiming opportunity cost lost. We brought in bottles of Champagne and were charged 12 dollars a bottle as a corking fee. The restaurant doesn't have champagne or even flutes. We had to do a toast in plastic cups. Not even glasses. Secondly, the restaurant likes to add on gratuity and do so in a shady manner. When we reserved our space, we were never told there would be auto-gratuity (23%) included on our check. and the servers never mentioned it. Yes, it was circled on the receipt, but that receipt was added to the bottom stack of receipts that gave us. The restaurant does nothing to ensure that their servers are being honest. this is poor business practice. From my experience, this restaurant, on top of pouring short drinks, likes to do whatever they can to ensure they get as much money from their clients without them knowing. As, someone who was in the service industry for a while, these practices are those from a restaurant who doesn't care about it's guest and only cares about their bottom line. this was clear when the person I spoke to on the phone was willing to marginally do things to make my us feel better. We spent almost 2-thousand dollars and the restaurant was only willing to compensate about 20 dollars in our favor. All things aside, the man I spoke to wasn't even pleasant. He just wanted to argue rather than fix problem. This place may be good for just a couple of people. but, if you're a group it isn't going to...
Read moreOn the good side, the patio is very enjoyable: great views, nice seating, open. Unfortunately, the music is loud enough to prevent table conversation and the Wi-Fi does not reach it.
Our purpose for choosing Coach's was having a dining room with Wi-Fi.
We were a whole family with kids, as a result, we did not ask to relocate tables.
The home-made chips have great texture but no taste, not even salt. Really disappointing choice.
This was better than my cobb salad however. I don't know how breaded chicken can be flavorless, but when combined with enough resilience require a steak knife, it was BAD. Again, the salad was not at all flavorful. It was short on any strong tasting vegetables, like onions, good avacados though.
The blue cheese dressing was supposed to be a strength. Whereas it absolutely has great chunks of real, great tasting, blue cheese, it was watery. Glad I didn't get the wings!
The tea was perfectly good. The diet Dr. Pepper was very low on syrup, no refill for me, it tasted like carbonization.
The server was very attentive. The issues had nothing to do with her, so she was tipped according to her service (well), not according to how badly her teammates supported her (terrible job).
My family regularly travels into KC (5-6 times per year) and we regularly stay at the Candlewood Suites next door. I have been at Coaches only once during the previous year, the experience was better.
This review may only reflect a temporarily bad condition due to Covid conditions, but the entirety of my family's experience sucked.
I take for granted that Wi-Fi actually reaches the seats, that soda is properly mixed, etc. If I find that it is not at a given place, then I am not going to take a chance going in...
Read moreCoach's is a phenomenal restaurant, so when my husband and I were deciding on a caterer for our wedding, we quickly knew who we wanted. Our wedding was November 18, 2017, and the Coach's catering team did such and AMAZING job!!! If I could give them 20 stars, I would. Cathy, the catering manager, is incredible at what she does. She has so much experience and is very detail-oriented, so you know everything will be perfect for your event. As some may know, wedding planning is stressful and a lot to juggle, but Coach's was able to help take a lot of the load off because they offer food, alcohol, china, flatware, cups, napkins, linens, cake cutting (cake plates and forks included). On top of that, we felt the pricing was very fair and reasonable! We were beyond thankful Coach's agreed to cater our wedding, especially considering what the company has endured this year - the untimely, tragic death of owner and dear friend, Mike Darby, and a flood that destroyed the original location where most of the catering business was run. We can't thank...
