Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Overland

I came here for dinner, overall it doesn't compare to any Mexican I've had. The building is rather small and the interior looked older and not as brightly painted/nice as most mexican restaurants. The food was just so so in my opinion. Be prepared to give about $13 for a dinner plate which has smaller portions then other Mexican restaurants as well and they are higher priced. The Happy Hour pricing was also basically not worth offering, they give $1 off some drinks and like 1.50-2.00 beef tacos. I had read on previous reviews margaritas were like $2.50-3.00, this is not the case anymore (as of Dec 2017). The small margarita is priced at $5.99 now and with $1 off on Happy hour it's $5.00, not really anything to get excited over. The waitress was really nice though and kept making sure we was okay, I appreciated this. She did seem to have some troubles understanding us though which made ordering a little difficult but she was super nice and kept the table clean, etc. Overall, I won't be back. It just left nothing to rave over, the building wasn't the nicest, happy hour was non-existent, food was so so and definitely not as good or as big of portions I've got elsewhere. We went here for my birthday at lunch time. I had a shrimp chimichanga. Delicious. Boyfriend had a steak chimichanga. He liked it. My aunt to me had the best taco salad. It was full of steak and chicken. But she complained because it was a salad with small amount of lettuce and tomatoes. Normally taco salads are full of lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and very small amount of meat. So which one would you rather had? Bring on the meat! I told her next time ask for extra lettuce and tomatoes. We actually had a groupon but forgot to use it. As long as you don't order from the lunch specials you are able to use a groupon. We just have another reason to come back. Overall I really like this small mexican restuarant. One of the best to me. Me and a few co worker's ordered food from here today for lunch, i got the shrimp fajitas. The order was incorrect, i asked for all peppers and no onions and ended up getting no peppers what so ever, for a order that cost close to 14 bucks you would also think that you would get more then 6 shrimp. The lack of beans, rice ect that that gave us was a joke as well. I called to make a complaint about all of our orders having problems but mine specifically when the employee that answered the phone said that there was no sort of supervisors were working or anyone that could help me with the situation at hand. They afford no money back or anything. They just told me that i could drive back up for my peppers if i wanted to but only having a 30 minute lunch made that a problem. Im not one to look for free hand outs or make a big deal over mistakes but i just wanted to share the poor service and lack for care about their customers while giving the very minimum food...
