Wasn't cooking tonight, so decided to give the new Roy's a try. My son had been there a couple of times, and brought me back a piece of chicken, so I at least had that much of a head start. Tonight was me and the kids and grandkid, so I went with the 12pc family pack, all dark, mashed potatoes/gravy with mac and cheese and an extra order of potato wedges. As a guy who loves fried chicken and has eaten far more than my fair share, I have to admit that Roy's was very underwhelming overall. The chicken was by far the best item I had and it was probably 7/10. The meat was pretty juicy and the breading stuck to the meat nicely, but the overall flavor was just blah. That was also the consensus of the kids. The mashed potatoes were standard issue instant, so no comment one way or the other there. The gravy had a weird taste to it, almost like they didn't get the flour cooked out. The mac and cheese was totally untouched except for a few bites by each to taste it. To me, it was okay, but as with everything else, it just missed the mark. The potato wedges were okay as well, but nowhere near as good as Charlie's puts out. Service was fast and at 7:30, not much of a wait getting the food. No ambience to speak of, since it's drive through only. Price tag was just south of $50 for essentially 4 people. For that same amount I can get a lot more, better food at Charlie's, and for far less I can get better at Church's (when they're on point, which isn't always). I wish them well, but I can't see me...

So, please keep that in mind when considering this restaurant, establishment, and/or venue. MY REVIEW: We normally visit the Roy's in Coweta but wanted to try the new Roy's in Owasso because it's closer to where we live in Tulsa. We ordered the chicken livers with coleslaw and potato wedges. The livers were hot and fresh, as were the potatoe wedges. The coleslaw also tasted fresh. The dinner was delicious, the service is drive-thru only but excellent, and we'll definitely be visiting this...
Read moreFor boneless they only offer chicken chunks, no chicken strips. So was not sure of the size of the chunks since terminology varies at each place. Got the 9 piece to take home, I had all the sides at home left over. $12.99 for 9 chunks so assumed for the price they would be more like strips but NO! Yes the taste was very good but not worth the price for the quantity at all! Really was not enough for two hungry adults, so glad I had made the...
