Sarku Japan — Restaurant in Owings Mills

Way smaller portions. Every time I go I ask if they can cut the chicken in smaller pieces, they use to get it right but now… no way! The chicken is in huge chunks and the “fried” rice is far from fried. It’s always been a light brown color but now it’s darn near white! I have to ask for 2 extra teriyaki sauces because they put a drop of sauce in the container. They never fill them all the way up. Last time I visited this location I spent 30 minutes waiting for my food. They seem to make all the door dash orders first and to hell with the people waiting in the store. Not to mention they have a wholeeeee new staff in there now, they are young and rude. Let’s put it like this, if your familiar with customer service at Walmart than you can expect the same service here. I don’t see this location lasting much longer if they continue...

I ordered $30 worth of food at 3 PM and received confirmation that it had been paid for and will be ready by 3:30 PM. I proceeded to go pick up my order in which they asked me a bunch of questions for the order details and finally admitted to not having made my order at all. They then said they would make my order and I would have to wait. I waited an additional 30 minutes and my order was not made. I proceeded to ask for a refund which they told me because I placed an online order, I have to get my refund from online. The representative was not knowledgeable and English was not her primary language so she was unable to assist. I am highly disappointed and annoyed as I often frequent those Sarku. First, the food is great! The Chicken Teriyaki and the Chicken and Shrimp Teriyaki never let me down in taste. If you are subscribed, at least once a month Sarku Japan sends a code for buy one get one free. That is a fantastic deal!! Here is the one tiny, tiny criticism...too many people are subscribed. The place was PACKED, and not a little disorganized! And you have to wait soooooo long for your order. I waited inside for an hour...and I had called in my order. But, the food was worth the wait for me. And just remember, if you get a code you can only use it ONCE and you have to buy ONE fountain drink. Crowds and long waits can sometimes make people forget their manners. And Sarku Japan, maybe hire more people to...
