Wish we could give a negative rating as a specific warning to potential customers.
We purchased 1 very unique and 2 special granite slabs from a different company, but our remodeling contractor insisted that we use Rock Tops for fabrication.
We paid a huge fee for transporting 3 slabs to Rock Tops.
When marking the cutouts, the Rock Top person kept avoiding the most interesting areas in the granite and was very irritated when we pointed out the features we wanted included. It was a hassle with each cutout.
All interactions were very unpleasant at best.
The kitchen has 2 counters each with a sink mounted under the granite. For both, they put a seam in the middle of each sink!!! Any reputable fabricator knows that is a disaster, especially for under mounting because water will weaken that seam.
We chose a unique slab for a large island with formed edges and holes for electrical outlets. During installation, they refused to seal the formed edges and the rings inside the holes. This was absurd because it only took extra swipes with the cloth and chemical sealant. They argued with my husband who finally said we would get the sealant and do it ourselves. They smiled and said we would not be able to purchase the sealant.
Before any cuts were made, we requested that all pieces, even small ones, be returned to us because they would be used in another project. In the end, we were told that ALL the nice pieces from the unique slab were lost!!! We kept trying to pursue the issue and their only compensation was an offer for us to pick something from their leftover stock materials.
BEWARE!...
Read moreThe WORST. They do not even deserve one star. We selected expensive calacatta marble for our renovations and we approved the layouts before they were installed. They decided to swap out slabs from what we approved and we ended up with what can only be described as a Rorschach drawing behind our oven. So we called them and told them this is not acceptable. They agreed to carefully remove the pieces and save them so we could use those pieces plus the LAST remaining slab to correct their mistakes. I went to Rocktops to review layouts with them and asked them where the leftover pieces were that they removed. They then told me they mistakenly THREW THEM AWAY. I almost fell off my chair. We had had so many discussions about this and they did not care. So we only had one remaining slab to work with then. We approved the revised layouts. They came to install and AGAIN they were not what we approved. Now I have to live with a ridiculous pattern on my kitchen backsplash....
Read moreRecently, we used Rock Tops for an update to our kitchen counters and backsplash. Ours was not an easy project, and I am beyond impressed with the patience, professionalism, and craftsmanship that everyone in this company showed us. Even when we ran into a couple issues along the way, no one ever made us feel like we were anything but valued customers. When is the last time someone called you first to discuss an issue, and then followed up before you had to? I highly recommend Rock Tops and appreciate everyone who made our...
