UPDATE: Not sure when I wrote this but I still feel the same. Some businesses didn't make it, especially after the pandemic. I am still grateful for Wegmans and just shared that with a wam I met today who was traveling fr Catonsville to shop there.
My new favorite old school two chair barbershop, aptly named "Bare Bones Barbershop" is a 1950"s Buddy Holly/Chevy Bel Air vibe. Joe D. was trained in a Shop with 3 generation of barbers that hold to traditional barbering. Wegmans in my view, is something I prayed for years. I'm certainly grateful. Generations of my relatives have worked there. Many starting as cart attendants becoming store managers.
Wegmans, along with most of the businesses in the area of foundry row have had some obvious difficulty in managing employees, however of the places I have frequented, Chick fil-a, Mission BBQ, Wegmans, Lifebridge, and Sola Salon Studios raised the bar in customer service. I have made many friends at Wegmans. My prayer is that customers and patrons would be exceptionally kind, remembering everyone is human; a kind act or word can change a life, our community and the world. A great example is at the Windsor Mill Wawa. Everytime I go, people go out of their way to hold the door for each other and give a simple smile and a thank you. So let's be the example and change our community with a smile, putting our carts where they belong and offering someone help with their groceries. In it, for the most part, you will be...
Read moreShopping is convenient and quick. Stores such as Panera Bread, Home Goods, & Wegmans are useful but, we need a Macy's or Dillard's Department Store.
UPDATE: As of July 2025, the Home Goods Store has changed. The floor is cluttered with merchandise and maneuvering through the store is difficult. The staff leave stock in the narrow aisles and respond to Consumers as if, they are an inconvenience to getting tasks done. The shopping carts once kept clean and dry inside, have been moved outside. When it rains the carts get soaked; any merchandise placed in the cart will be ruined. Who would dare sit their child in the kids seat of a slimy wet cart? It's best to find a towel in the store and dry the cart before you start shopping. Or, drive to Eldersburg for a better Home Goods location and service. Aside from the previously mentioned, Foundry Row of Owings Mills remains a great shopping and entertainment area. There's music on certain nights and good food everywhere. ALERT, due to the "big bad economy," there's a little bit of passive panhandling near Wegmans. I'm not an enabler but, I've twice bought people a little food and water in this heat. The Police and store security do a good 👍 job at keeping most of them...
Read moreThis Wegmans supermarket has very good selections. The flower dept is the BEST. Flowers are always fresh. I usually get my arrangement wrapped in pretty paper, or I buy a vase. Most of the vases are reasonable in price. They put the vase in a secure pretty box. 1 time the flower person was at lunch and the store manager and another staff member came, was going to do their best and put my arrangement together. Which I thought was so nice, but then the flower person came while they were getting started. The extravagant birthday cards are very nice and the price is well worth it, usually they are in plastic covers. The only bad thing about all their stores. They move the merchandise around too much. You can NEVER find things, do to this. Then you have to go all the way to the front of the store to customer service or say forget it and go somewhere else and buy what you need. The bakery is very, very nice. I bought this chocolate shape edible teacup filled with some type of cake like boston creme cake in it, and I had it gift wrapped in a pretty box. The price was reasonable. This store have plenty of cashiers, and I love IT. They still have...
