I was REALLY looking forward to visiting BBB based on the reviews and awards, and the photos (cause ya know...if it looks good...)
Arrived at 12:30pm, they close at 1:30pm. There were only 4 other customers and 2 left shortly after I arrived. The red-headed gentleman who greeted me was WAAAY more friendly than my actual server. She didn’t acknowledge me for at least another almost 10 minutes, and only after 2 other customers walked in and were seated. She then proceeded to take their order before mine. Which meant they were also served before me.
Maybe it’s their policy, but I had to ask because she brought a water and my soda without straws. They also had “just ran out” of the first drink I ordered. Disappointed.
I wanted to customize my initial order but was told, “they’re not allowed to modify”. Disappointed. There were no condiments (jam, syrup, butter-nothing) for or offered with the biscuit.
My server was not friendly and chose to acknowledge later customers before me and I tipped accordingly.
The gentleman who greeted me and the music were great. Omelette was okay and the chicken sausage were delicious but surprisingly small for the price. However, the grits were the absolute best!! They reminded me of being at Big Mama’s table as a child.
I will return, hopefully the cheerful red headed gentleman will be my server. AND because those grits were...

The waiter was terrible. It took him at least 20 minutes to even take our order. I ordered the cranberry-almond fruit and yogurt bowl. When we finally did get our food, my cranberry-almond granola was almost entirely peanuts, the fruit clearly came out of a can and was flavorless, and there was only a dollop of yogurt on the entire bowl. I asked for some more yogurt and was charged for a side of yogurt. None of the fruit served in this place is fresh, as advertised on the menu. I watched my waiter pour a glass of "freshly squeezed orange juice" out of a commercial orange juice container.
Although I appreciate the waiter's desire to have fun, he needs to work more on focusing on doing his job. After taking our order and offering us jelly 4 times, he did not give us a second glance. He was constantly spilling things, and flirted more with young ladies that came in than actually did his job.
The marketing this place has is fantastic. They have somehow convinced Oxford that this cramped, overcrowded place is fabulous due to its ambiance. However, if you want good food and good service, I suggest you look elsewhere.
Needless to say, I will not...

From the moment we walked in, Bella greeted us warmly with a beautiful smile and eyes that pierced any out towner’s hungry belly 😂, there was a small little wait but what a savvy veteran move by us looking for a great spot to eat at and accepting nothing less than that 🙌
Dayna gave service that made us feel right at home with Lauren the manager and her great personally frequent our table.
Even the kitchen manager, Mr. Bryan Sapp, came by to say hello. Talk about Southern hospitality. The food was every bit as memorable as the service.
I enjoyed a burrito packed with flavor, while my friends devoured the chili cheese omelette and the Big Bad Breakfast platter.
Drinks (Dr Pepper, cold brew, and coffee) were spot on. And to top it all off, Miss Lauren treated us to the biscuit cinnamon balls on the house — a sweet, unforgettable gesture that sealed the deal.
For travelers looking for an authentic, welcoming, and downright delicious breakfast in Oxford, this is the spot. Five stars all the way — worth the trip, and we’ll be back next time...
