Handy Andy Grocery — Restaurant in Oxford

I will start out on a good note... their burgers are amazing good grill burgers! Lots of flavor! However for the last few weeks when trying to call in an order for pickup, I have constantly got a busy signal for over 15 minutes each time. Today was no different. I decided to drive up to the restaurant and just place my order. When I entered, there were two tables occupied. One was with the owners/managers and friends that had empty plates in front of them visiting with friends at their table and the other looked as though they were still waiting for food. I asked the person at the register if their phones were working. I was informed that the owner took it off the hook because they were short a person in the grill area. As I looked around, I see two guys in the restaurant’s work shirts just standing around talking and not doing anything. I understand being a small business and having to do what you need to do, however when a local orders from you usually once a week and this starts happening every time an order is trying to be placed (only to walk in and see the business isn’t that busy and the owner/manager is sitting around visiting friends), it’s going to start effecting business, especially with your locals and regulars... no matter how great...

My family and I have been eating here since at least 2000! Family owned establishment with great BBQ, awesome potato salad, & friendly atmosphere. Just a good, simple place to grab dinner or to go. I highly recommend the BBQ plate! You get BBQ plus two sides and there's always plenty left over for later. Their prices are cheaper than a lot of places that aren't as good. Expect to spend $8.00-$12.00 per person, depending on what you get, could be less. Very fast service! They are usually quite busy at noon. Highly Recommend trying here for authentic...

This place is an institution that has to be fully experienced to be fully appreciated. This ain’t no one-time stop either. The barbecue is consistently good with a great sauce (get the hot) and solid sides. Their beans are a favorite that taste just as good as they did about 30 years ago when I had them the first time. The burgers are some of the best smash burgers you’ll find almost anywhere. AND the service is extremely kind and down to earth. No fancy put on garbage here; just real people making solid...
