Let me start by saying, I used to love Volta. I had eaten here many times before without any issue, but I will personally never return for any reason. Why? Warning: Gross content below A few months back I got the worst food poisoning of my life from eating severely undercooked pork that made it into my Pork Soulvlaki salad. I noticed the meat was "chewy" and after eating only two bites, I took some and cut it up on my plate and it was basically raw. (picture attached) I showed the wait staff who apologized and said the kitchen gets into a hurry sometimes when they get backed up during busy times. They offered to make it again, but at that point they had already lost my trust and I had lost my appetite. They actually seemed apathetic towards the situation. They didn't even offer to take it off my check even though I only ate those two bites. Fast forward a few days later, I started to get violently ill, I ended up in the hospital and was admitted for 3 days. I was the sickest I have ever been in my life. It took weeks for my digestive system to fully recover. For those who are reading this, if you choose to go to Volta, my advice would be to cut each piece of meat before you eat it to make sure it is fully cooked so something like this doesn't happen to you.

Update: Had wrapless chicken club wrap and homemade fries, which are thin, sliced. Sat outside on a wonderfully cool evening. Can't beat the food or the service! Original review: Attentive servers. We sat outside on a breezy, fall evening and were quite comfortable on the fenced in porch. Delicious walnut, goat cheese and grilled chicken on salad, with roasted brussel sprouts (Much better than I thought, with bacon and very light, savory dressing). Also tried the homemade potato chips, which were quite good.

Volta is a must stop for me anytime I'm in Oxford. Seriously the best Greek food in Mississippi that I personally have eaten. So many good options to choose from but I always gravitate back to the lamb and beef gyro. Something about having those thick charred pieces of meat just always hits the spot and makes the typical thinly sliced ones every where else pale in comparison. Can't recommend this place enough.

Service was great at first. Kitchen did not make the food as ordered so it got sent back. Big mistake. While waiting the bar showed disgusting habits of touching bar items, cherries, lemons, limes with hands instead of tongs.. Picked up dirty glasses plates and made drinks to serve immediately after. No sanitation at all. Literally watched clean and make 20 plus drinks before washing hands. Then the remake took 15 min. So the food that was correct was cold by this time and the remake was a salad 🤣🤣 Can't make this up.. Germs at its finest. I did not eat the salad because the person that put it up for being ready came through the side kitchen door probably 5 times. Chewing s if eating and the salad remake had less on it than the original.....

This place is unassuming from the street, but the food and experience will knock your socks off. The salad with Gyro meat is fantastic. The crunchy edges on the meat are the best! I loved it with the vinaigrette and feta dressings. The grilled pita was so simple but full of flavor. We chose it with feta and I would get it that way again. The picnic tables on the deck outside were the perfect location to enjoy the amazing weather of the day, but they even open the garage doors for the inside, so you couldn't go wrong with any seat there. And if you love to take home plastic cups, their cups are giant and a bright yellow. The kind you want to use over and over again. This will be a top choice whenever I...
