Guerrero's, it's a local secret (well, not anymore!) right off Highway One. At the Reina Del Mar stoplight make a left, then immediate right into the parking lot. See that sorta yellow building in the back? You're looking at it.
This is the best dang Mexican food between San Francisco and San Jose, no really! Totally awesome. It's not about giant quick food, it's done right. They have these huge GIANT QUESADILLAS that are like burritos with lightly seared tortillas. OMG they are so good! I usually get steak.
Burritos are good. Tacos are good. Nachos are good. Great spicy salsa with chips, radishes, peppers, it's all very authentic. If you're vegetarian, you're in luck, they have stuff for you too and you will enjoy it.
Wash it down with fresh horchata, beer, or bottled beverage of your choice, then go into a food coma for the rest of the day.
Ok, you want to know what's on the menu? It's all photographed and posted on the wall so you know what you're getting.
It's a family business, does lots of take-out, it's not pretentious like Pancho Villa in San Mateo (ugh did I say that?) The walls have gorgeous murals painted all over them. What eye candy!
Meats, they have Carne Asada (Grilled Steak), Pastor (BBQ Pork), Carnitas (Fried Pork), Chile Verde (haha, the menu says Pork in Green, it's Carnitas with a Green sauce), Lengua (ya, beef tongue! not for me but people eat it!) and of course the plain old favorite, Pollo (Chicken). Prices are reasonable. You get what you pay for, actually, you get more than what you'd think.
Drinks, they do fresh carrot juice, orange juice, horchata, snapple, sodas, beers of all sorts,...
Read moreExcellent cliff-side Pacifica Taqueria with a neighborhood vibe. No frills establishment with excellent food, quick service, and everything you'd expect from a Bay Area Taqueria. Excellent Mexican food all around. They have beer, plenty of tacos, Mexican dishes, Carne Asada, and other delicious items. We especially loved how the carne asada tacos and the Al Pastor was charred to perfection with the perfect blend of taste and carbon flavor from the grill. They have self serve free chips as well! (No hard liquor or cocktails though, fyi!). Also, they have plenty of indoor seating as well as patio outdoor seating in the back with plenty of room and fresh air. They have a restroom.
This place is easy to miss but it's perfectly located right on the main byway heading to San Francisco or down to Pacifica. We chose to come here after doing some hiking in Pacifica (Mori Point). This was the perfect idea to hit the spot after a tough morning on the trails.
One of the better Taquerias in the area, especially if you're hungry and don't want to travel far. Recommended for convenience, taste, quick service, and good Taqueria...
Read morePerfect spot for Mexican eats right off US-1. Extensive menu, self- serve salsa bar worth hot tortilla chips, fresh pico, Verde salsa (medium), rojo (hot), whole grilled jalapenos, sliced (likely pickled) jalapenos, bottled hot sauce plus more. Housemade horchata, Jamaica, AND tamarindo (wow), plus jarritos, Mexican Sprite, Arizona, plus more. Order at the counter then seat yourself at either a bench outside or indoor. The food came out fast, hot, and plentiful! Everyone was well pleased with their selection. We ordered various tacos (meat, super chicken, shrimp), a burrito (had to wrap half for later), and the chicken fajitas (also couldn't consume everything). Churros were soft, chewy, with delicious, creamy center (far better than any I've tried back home in Michigan), and the trees leches was finished and described as ice creamy finish. Perfect for our ride...
