If you're in the mood for a dining experience that combines history, atmosphere, and exceptional food, look no further than Stella's, the newest locally owned tavern in Downtown Paducah. Nestled in the iconic C.C. Cohen building on Broadway Street, Stella's offers the perfect blend of elevated comfort food, craft cocktails, and a setting rich in character.
From the moment you step inside, you'll be greeted by a warm, welcoming vibe, with a nod to the building's storied past. The Cohen building, built in the 1800s, is not only one of the most recognizable structures in the area but also one of the most spirited—and it's no surprise. The legacy of Stella Cohen, whose family lived and worked here for generations, adds an extra layer of charm (and mystery!) to the experience. Some even say that Stella's presence still lingers, making the atmosphere at this unique tavern all the more intriguing.
Now, let's talk about the food—Chef Casey Broussard has truly outdone himself. The menu is a perfect mix of comfort food elevated to new heights. Whether you're enjoying a classic Southern dish with a twist or indulging in something more inventive, every bite reflects the creativity and care put into each plate. Pair that with one of their expertly crafted cocktails, and you've got a recipe for a memorable evening.
The space itself, housed in one of Paducah’s most historic buildings, is equally impressive. It feels both timeless and contemporary, offering the perfect spot for a casual night out or a special occasion. The combination of the restaurant’s cozy vibe, the charm of its historic setting, and the exceptional service will have you wanting to return again and again.
If you're in Paducah, make sure to stop by Stella’s—it’s more than just a meal; it’s an experience. Whether you're a history buff, a foodie, or someone just looking for a fun, laid-back atmosphere, Stella’s is the place to be.
A big cheers to the talented team behind this gem—Stella’s is a true standout in the heart of...
Read moreWow! Where do I begin?! We went to Stella's Nov. 4th, 2022, at 6:30pm, for my 60th birthday dinner. Not the experience I expected from a new "fine-dining" restaurant. When we arrived the male host said party of 6? He said that was a problem. We said no, it had never been a party of 6 and it must have been written down wrong. Ok, so far. He attempted to take us to a very small table in the bar area. High top tables, I am partially disabled and am afraid of falling from such tables, so we asked for a booth. Not a good answer from him: "Well, we have other parties that have not arrived yet, and we need the booths for the 6 person parties!" Shocked?! Yes, me too. Very sad. Another hostess spoke up and told him to take us to one of the booths. Which should not have been a big deal. But, he made things worse. The problem for me is that every time he passed our table he gave a glaring look as though he was mad at me! After a couple of times of this I started ignoring him. That really started my 60th birthday dinner off on a really bad foot. The server did a great job of serving, but, all of this commotion coupled with a VERY NOISY atmosphere really destroyed my desire to ever go back. Given the prices they charge, you would THINK, their staff would be friendlier and MUCH more accommodating to paying guests, ESPECIALLY given the prices they charge!! Good luck trying to stay open like this...I will never be back to help you with that...Totally disappointed...Total check: $190 for...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I recently took a road trip to Paducah. We stayed in the Historic district near the harbor at The "Paducah Harbour Plaza" which was beautiful! The owner was also very accommodating and friendly! We definitely recommend it and will be back! We were trying to decide where to eat that night and so we did our research. It was a tossup between "Stella's" and "Over Under". They both were a good fit, but we chose to eat at Stella's. The enitire vibe was incredible! When we entered the restaurant we were pleasantly greeted and hosted to our table. Our waitress was very friendly and made sure we were happy the entire time without being overbearing. She was professional, made us feel at home and engaged in conversation. The menu had a variety of dishes to chose from. Everything was a piece of art inside including the food! It was not only delicious, but it was beautifully displayed. We love to try new dishes, and so we did! We were so happy with the appetizers, drinks, main course, and dessert! They even bring you out cotton candy for appreciation in the end! It was such a special touch. We were blessed to meet one of the owners. Both he and his wife shared the history of the building with us. They were the nicest people! There's so much more we wanted to do, so we will definitely be coming back! Next time we are in town, we may try "Over Under." Although, we also will definitely be back to Stella's!
