My goodness. And I don't mean that in a good way. This Denny's gives Denny's a bad name. And I know my Denny's, as our kids weirdly insist on eating at a Denny's wherever we travel. This Denny's though... Easily THE worst we've ever had the misfortune of attempting to dine at.
Our hotel was located across the parking lot from the Denny's here in Page. We'd been on the road all day. Had just checked in at the hotel. Needed something to eat, as our family of four was starving.
We entered this Denny's. There were two cooks we could see. A chubby boy that wandered to and from occasionally. (No idea what his job was. And he wouldn't answer when we called to him.) There was also the server. A 20-something gal with bright red hair and one Airpod in her left ear. As we waited, she would come from a table, pick up some food from the cooks, and make some modifications to it--completely ignoring that we were even standing there. No separate host/hostess. As the server/hostess came and went for the third time, I said politely, "Excuse me, miss?" No response. Not even an acknowledgment that we were standing there. When she came and went for the fourth time, I tried again: "Miss?" It was as if we were completely invisible.
After about 15 minutes, one of the cooks came out to ring somebody up. They themselves had been waiting to pay for some 5 minutes. As he was about to walk away without even addressing us, my wife asked, "Sir? Is there someone who could seat us?" He answered that he didn't have a host but the server would eventually get to us.
By this time, there were two other groups of people who had joined us in the waiting area. They were getting the same treatment as us: that is, being totally ignored.
After another 5 minutes, the cook comes back and seats us and one of the other groups. We sat at our booth and chose what we would order. But the red-haired server never came.
Now, normally, we wouldn't have put up with anything like this. But it was late, the area slightly remote, and we just wanted to eat something. Is that a crime?
After another 5 minutes of being ignored, we packed up, wished the other group of ignored people "Good luck" and went to Walmart to buy some microwave dinners.
Whoever is in charge of this Denny's should be fired today. The red-haired gal shouldn't ever work in the SERVICE industry again.
If I could leave negative stars/black...
Read moreWorst experience of our lives at Dennys!!! Really! I don’t normally write a bad review giving everyone the benefit of doubt! But i really feel that i needed to write this review due the fact how poorly we were treated with so much disrespect! We came here for dinner with our friends and kids, the waitress was nice and sweet. We ordered our food and after waiting for a long time we got an entirely different order. When we enquired with the waitress she said she doesn’t know anything about it as she was told they are out of a lot of stuff. Fair enough. We asked to talk to the chef about why we weren’t informed about it when we ordered the food and could have ordered something different. Not to mention the food was cold and served on a cold skillet! We ordered spicy chicken skillet that was supposed to come with chicken, peppers, mushrooms, cheese, sausage, and some green vegetables. Instead we got chicken and yellow squash. That’s all we got with some weird looking sauce on top!! Manager or the chef or i don’t know who came with so much of attitude and no apologies for giving us an entirely different dish from what we’d ordered and his/her explanation was that We are out of alot of stuff and this is the best we could do!!! 😡 All we were wanting for them to let us know that they were out of what we were ordering! anyways they never acknowledged their mistake or apologies and rather kept saying in such a rude manner that i’ll take care of the bill! We never asked for them to take care of our bill! I have dined at several Dennys across the country but this is the worst ever!!! I hope the owner of this restaurant came teach some manners to their manager/chef about how to talk to people!! I would have given a zero...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped in just before 9:00pm to grab a bite to eat before heading over to the Airbnb we were staying at. When we approached the front desk to wait to be seated, Catrina (our server), didn't greet us warmly at all, and in fact, the attitude she did display was one of indifference, like we were bothering her. After she seated us and gave us the menu's, my wife asked for some caffeine free tea, and I asked for water. While she was getting our drinks, we looked over the menu, and my wife decided on the "Cali Taco Skillet", and apparently I couldn't find just a regular basic bacon & eggs breakfast on the menu, but it looked like I had to order everything separately, which I decided I'd have to do. Upon her return, she brought me my water, but she brought my wife a regular caffinated Lipton tea which she didn't drink. My wife ordered her meal, and I commenced to order my individual items separately, which I came to find out cost twice as much if you order the breakfast items individually rather than just ordering the "Grand Slam". I ordered two eggs, two slices of bacon, two sausages, hashbrowns, and an english muffin, which turns out to be the exact same thing as the "Grand Slam", but without the two pancakes. What Catrina should've done was to let me know that it'd be a LOT cheaper if I were to just order the "Grand Slam" rather than ordering everything separately, but she didn't. So, instead of paying roughly $10 for my breakfast, I was charged more than double for what I got. It's too bad that Catrina couldn't be bothered to do her job because if she had of, she would have gotten a pretty nice tip, but as it turns out, she got exactly what she...
