So-so hotel. I would say avoid. Much much better choices all around. Any hotel I think is better. Giving it 1 star bc everything was broken (elevator - try bringing up 4 luggages-, ice machine, treadmill, vending machine, pool/spa closed) plus we had a view of a wall. Yeah, a wall. We had a room with 3 queen size bedrooms, which was nice for the 5 of us. However, this room is more suitable for a closet/office than actual guests. The view was of a wall and some curtains from the lobby when you pull up in the front with your car. They claim the website indicated it, but I have yet to find it. The room is large and comfortable but very dated. Bathroom is passable and has mold on the ceiling. No ventilation. There is a window from the shower into the room, so every time someone gets up at night to go to the bathroom, they wake up everyone. At night, every time someone comes in or out of the lobby, you hear the hissing of the automatic lobby door opening and closing. Paper thin windows. Incredibly disappointing. It's called the "View of Lake Powell" and we can't even see the sun. Total marketting scam. Half of the rooms have a view to a parking lot and some storage, horrible view. Front rooms probably have very nice view. Let's see how breakfast is tomorrow. My recommendation is to ask for a lake view and do not, under any circumstance, take the bedroom with 3 queen size beds unless you want to stare at a wall. 3 nights of this is going to be long... The front desk called me sbout 1hr after checking in, and told me we could have a second room at a discounted price, but why should I pay anything extra for them trying to maximize every square inch of the hotel? This room (#320) should never ever ever be given to a customer. It's scandalous. They were also fully booked (well, that's what they said upon checking in, but then offered another room). They claimed this 3 bed room is the only one in the hotel so no choice for us. I will never stay here again. I tried going to another nearby Best Western (Plus), but they were fully booked. That one did not seem to have any strange rooms like this one, and was much nicer at least from the lobby, and good views. I was so looking forward to my stay in Page. Been dreaming for years to be here. The location of the hotel is good, but unless you get a view to Lake Powell, all the other...
Read moreThis was not a good experience. After a long day of travelling we were looking forward to a shower but we had no hot water. When we went to reception they told us they were restarting the boiler and we should have hot water in an hour or so, but by the time we went to bed two hours later, there was still no hot water. The next morning we tried again to have a shower and still no hot water, so we left for our canyon tour hoping it would be fixed by the time we returned in the afternoon. But when we got back, still no hot water. We went to reception to tell them that we'd had no hot water for the duration of our stay and they showed about as much concern as a lamp post, saying the maintenance man had fixed it. We replied that he clearly had not because there was no hot water in our room. We asked if it was just our room or the whole hotel and they said it was just our wing of the hotel having problems. So we suggested, can you move us to a wing of the hotel that does have hot water? And they said they could. I'm not sure why it was left to us to suggest moving rooms. This should have been their suggestion. We moved to the wing with the working hot water and everything was fine from then on and we were able to have showers.
On the plus side, they did give us a 20 per cent per night discount for the inconvenience, but this was only after I asked for a refund for the first night due to not being able to use the shower.
Other complaints, the walls are paper thin between rooms so expect to be able to hear your neighbours and everything they do. The lower floor rooms are noisy because you can hear everyone's footsteps on the floor above you. The air conditioner was as noisy as all hell. the view from our first room was expansive but underwhelming to be honest, and the view from our second room even more so - it was of the parking lot. One of the pillows on the bed in our second room had yellow stains on it.
The positives: the beds were comfortable, breakfast was simple but well done. I had waffles. Rooms were nice and clean, although we had to walk over something that looked like crushed potato chips on the carpet in the hall immediately at the entrance to our first room, as though the cleaners had swept the room out into the hall and just left the sweepings there, which meant the dirt was tracked back into...
Read moreAs a business owner myself, I actively try to steer away from negative reviews as much as possible. When we checked in, the gentlemen at the front desk was actually very pleasant. Unfortunately when we got to the room, we pulled the bedsheets back and found an ugly brown stain on the bedsheets. Honestly it was unclear whether the stain was fresh, if the sheets were clean, or really whether any cleaning had been done. The room looked clean enough aside from this, so we weren’t looking for a refund or anything of that nature, just some clean bedding. I asked the front desk for a full set of clean bedding. Initially we were brought the wrong size sheet replacement, and shortly after that they did bring the correct size of sheets but we were told they were short on pillowcases. From a consumer perspective, this just furthered my impression that the current pillow cases may not have been cleaned to begin with. At this very moment I’m lying on the bedsheets that are covering the pillows that I’m unsure whether or not are clean. Some may say we’re being petty, but honestly anything more than free is a little steep to pay to sleep in a room where you are not comfortable. We’ve already paid in advance so we’re not going anywhere else. We will be here again for another night tomorrow evening, and of course we really just want to be heard. If we happen to receive better service before we leave here, I will gladly hop back on and update this review to reflect the change in service. If there is no change in this review, it’s safe to say that staying here is a risk of comfort. Update: I posted this review last night, but unfortunately google reviews are not a messaging service and without the hotel being able to see the name I checked in under, no real accountability was taken. I’m 100% certain that I’m staying in the best western with a view (confirm that you got a room with a view of more than the parking lot by the way before you book the room). Hopefully this additional review clears this up. For the sake of the business owner, I will remove the original review so as not to excessively hurt the reputation of the business. Again, not trying to take advantage, we just want...
