On June 9th, I went online and checked out their rate with Expedia then decided to call the hotel directly just to see if they were less expensive. They actually quoted me a price of $50 more. I chuckled and went through Expedia. This stay was’nt worth $20 much less the $96 I spent. As soon as you walk in, you can tell it’s in rough shape and needs not only a good cleaning but renovating. Place was literally falling apart. There was no one to check me in and all of the sudden, a woman’s voice starts talking me and when I turn around I’m talking to a freaking robot looking virtual device. Her English was horrible, had to ask her so many times to repeat herself. She eventually gave me driving directions to my room telling me to drive around the building. I did and my room was nowhere to be found. Went back to the front, looked around and discovered my room was just down the main corridor. If I would have had an actual human checking me in I wouldn’t have had to search like crazy for my room. Got to room 110, smelled bad and looked worse. Oh and the temperature in the room had to be over 90 degrees. I took a shower and noticed the water not draining. Shower bar was so thin, it broken in half from just one use and it smelled like peanut oil. When I got out, it was roughly 4” deep, never drained. I started to turn on the tv, wouldn’t turn on for the life of me. Tried calling front desk, phone was broken. Walked up front and found 4 Indian guys sitting at the bar dressed in t shirts and shorts with no name badges but apparently they were all employees. I explained the issues and a guy followed me to my room. He himself couldn’t get the tv to work. I showed him everything and he offered to give me another room. Got in room 104, he left and once I was settled I tried turning the tv on. Again, it didn’t work, and neither did the phone. I snatched that phone and walked up front to point out their issues. Again, a guy came down and it took him probably 15 minutes to get that tv to turn on and work. Btw, this room also was probably over 90 degrees inside. Took forever to cool off. Also, room 104 had no safety latch on the door, screw holes were there but that’s it. Once the guy left, I watched a movie and once the movie ended I attempted to turn off the tv. It wouldn’t turn off, tv said the remote isn’t linked. What? Tried turning off the tv manually and the box, nothing worked. Couldn’t call the front desk, phone didn’t work. At this point, I’m steaming. Hit up front, humans were no longer on site, just the robot girl. I asked her for the manager’s name and she refused to tell me. I asked for the owners name, she refused to tell me. I argued with her and waited for a human to show up for half an hour. No one showed up. I finally walked around a bit of the property taking photos and found two gas cans in the lobby which is a fire code violation. I eventually moved furniture and unplugged the tv from the wall. Horrible stay. I’ve already called their corporate office. Here are some pictures. The cobweb pic is directly overhead at the front desk with all...

This place was atrocious. Let me preface this review by saying that I rarely give bad reviews. I'm passing on this information in the hopes that someone will avoid wasting their money. Pay the extra $50 for a reputable chain.

I chose to stay here because I was coming back for a reunion and 35 years ago my brother worked here. It's also overlooking the lake--the view is still amazing, but the building is in disrepair.

A stale odor wafted through the hallways and the room we stayed in, was hardly fit for occupancy. A sweet and sour stench filled the air with an unsettling moisture. Both beds sunk in the middle--one worse than the other due to the box springs boards being broken.

As do many weary travelers, we surmised we would only be sleeping here--what's the harm?

I needed to get ready for an event and the water was turned off. They said it was just maintenance and would come on again later. I decided to forego the shower and get dressed. Almost immediately I hear water pulsing through the pipes so decided to disrobe and get that shower. Lucky me--it was all cold water.

There were so many things in the room that looked poorly patched. The shower and tub sounded like it was going to explode every time I turned it on. The bed skirts don't appear to have been washed in some time. The room just has dirty--not deep-cleaned in a long time feeling. But even if it was cleaned, the carpets were dirty. My daughter stepped in something sticky by her bed. There was a hardened pile of something white in the middle of the carpet.

On the second evening, my daughter wanted to stay in for the event. A few minutes after I left the room, a man came to her door. She lept from the bed to see who it was and got to the door just as it was opening. She shoved it hard and closed it, then immediately latched the door.

I was still in the car, so I came back in. There were two men lurking in the hallways. We are not convinced that the door was left open. He could have only opened the door with a key and if he was in the hallway, it appeared as if he saw me leave and assumed my room was empty. Very unsettling.

The front desk was no help. They are short in their answers and act as if there is nothing wrong.

The level of neglect on this property is overwhelming. The light fixtures, doors, hallways, everything--seems abandoned. The pictures of green grass and clean rooms are totally misleading.

The breakfast--I feared before we even went after reading the reviews. I kicked myself for not reading reviews first, because I usually do. Unfortunately, it is barely a continental breakfast. They serve warm eggs, but not sausage, bacon, or potatoes as shown. This matches with what over reviewers have said. We tried to find seating and every table was filthy. The employees put the food out and then sat at one of the tables. We had to clean our own table.

This place should not even be open. It needs a remodel, landscaping, weeds pulled, fixtures replaced, new beds, carpets, linens, everything!...

DON'T STAY HERE ! .. this place SUCKS. We had 2 reservations .. one for Saturday and then a separate one for Sunday and Monday .. when we got there on Saturday and saw the property I requested to cancel the reservation for Sunday and Monday and should have been able to based on their 24hr cancellation policy ... the front desk refused to cancel so we were stuck... We checked in at about 4pm and went to the room and found it wasn't clean.... ended up sitting out on the deck for an hour while the housekeepers cleaned it. (I will say the housekeepers where outstanding but there is no stay over service once you check in... 3 days and nothing) ... When you pull up to the hotel you see the place is run down and totally lacks any maintenance. (SEE PICTURES) They think the front desk shouldn't have an employee at it and have set up some sort of stupid kiosk for people to use to check in... I heard nothing but complaints from guests about that. Our TV didn't work and I reported it the first day and nobody ever came to look at it... calling the front desk is a waste of time because nobody answers. I reported the TV again the second day and about 8 hrs later a guy came and looked at it and then gave up and left.... the next day another guy came and while he was nice but nothing was done... so 3 days no tv. While the property was trashy and unkept one of the big issues we had was from "goat heads" ... yeah I didn't know what they are either... they have done nothing to maintain the landscaping so these weeds are everywhere in the scrappy lawn and they have these little spiky things that get caught in your shoes and then in the carpet. If you step on one with your bare feet it is like nailing a spike into your foot. (see the picture) Our dog was yiping every time I took her out and I'd have to pick these things out of her paws. The only thing good was the room itself was clean but the fitted sheets would come off the mattress and in the morning you were sleeping in a tangled mess. Also look at the picture of the sliding door from the inside ... it was so dirty when the sun was on it you couldn't hardly see out. I would never stay here again and a Quality Inn this is NOT... ||Seems obvious that Choice Hotels has NO standards anymore and if they allow their Quality Inn name on this dump then they don't give a flying crap about their customers. Everyone I met while staying there voiced the same opinion. I could go on for another 1000 words but ONE WORD COVERS IF YOU SHOULD STAY HERE ...... |...
