Cannot really say anything about the service or atmosphere because we tried to place a to-go order by phone and no one ever answered. The positive thing, about no one ever answering, is that they are so busy they don't have time to answer the phone. The reason they are so busy is cuz their food is freaking awesome!

We ordered the chicken nachos, shrimp, taco salad and barbacoa. Everything was packed nicely so that the food was piping hot by the time we got it home. For my nachos, everything was put on the side so the chips were still crispy, the cheese still melty, and the seasoned, grilled chicken excellent! Nachos came with a side of sour cream, fresh guacamole, and traditional pico. The proportioning was amazing and I had exactly enough chips and cheese to compliment the chicken.

The shrimp taco salad was cool and delicious with slices of fresh avocado on top. I don't know much about the barbacoa because my son-in-law devoured it hardly leaving me enough time to take a picture. The sublime look on his face as he was devouring it, said it all.

Next time we're in Pagosa we will try to go inside. However, this is some of the best takeout I have ever had. It was obvious a great deal of care was taken and packing everything so that our meal was as good at home as it would have been in...

We came here on a Sunday and there was a 35 minute wait. Once seated in the outdoor patio area, we were greeted by our server, Brittany. Despite being busy, she was friendly, sweet and attentive.

We ordered Jalapeño Poppers, which is a must-order! They were delicious but watch out, they are hot, as in if-you-pop-them-into-your-mouth-the-cream-cheese-will-burn-the-insides-of-your-mouth hot!

We ordered cheeseburgers for our boys and they crushed it all! My husband enjoyed his Sante Fe Chili. My daughter ordered a chili cheeseburger. It was served like an open faced sandwich that was generously blanketed with the green chili. I had The Esteban and added avocado slices. I used the salsa verde that came with my kids’s burgers to add a nice kick since they didn’t eat it with their meal. It was a great combination and I thoroughly devoured every bit of it.

After eating so well, the kids and I definitely deserved dessert! 😉 Ice cream scoops for the boys, Locally Baked Cherry Pie, and Turtle Pecan Cheesecake for my daughter and I to share. The Cherry Pie was my favorite made with real cherries! (I need to go and check out that bakery!)

I would definitely come back here next time we pass through or visit and...

LOCAL SPOT in Pagosa Springs, Colorado ✨

We were driving through town and decided to stop at Kip’s Grill and Cantina. It definitely has a vibe. Outdoor seating is closed during the winter season. Even in May, it was cold and had some snow that didn’t last all day. Lots of seating at the bar and a friendly bartender. It is small inside.

The decor is fun with license plates, guitars, surfboard and surf pictures, snowboards and more.

We tried: Elote appetizer: I wish it had more corn but it had a good flavor. It was a bit too thick. It comes cold and I would have preferred hot. This would be even better with melted cheese!! Comes with chips. They have 3 levels of heat for the sauces.

The Nachos are huge!! It had too much black beans though and I wish it had more melted cheese.

The jalapeño poppers had a good char on it. It had bacon around it and the jalapeño was still a little crisp, I like it that way. Inside is cream cheese, which could used more flavor or maybe a cream cheese with shredded cheese mixture?

The Irish Coffee was pretty and the Old Fashioned was strong. The local Root Beer was great!

This place is definitely worth trying.

Michelle had great...
