I recently visited this Starbucks in Harrahs Casino and was surprised on the “policy” they have regarding refills.
I purchased a Grande Cappuccino Breve, which costs over $6, plus a toasted bagel - coming to a total of $12. The cappuccino cup was not filled to top. About 1/4 of the cup was frothy foam. And the coffee was not very hot.
Although I did not like this - I went along with it since the line was so long. I also thought they provided refills for a nominal fee, so I will get it hotter on my refill.
I returned to the Barista after finishing my cup and requested just a refill of coffee - not Cappuccino. She checked with her manager and said - sorry that only applies when you purchase coffee on your first order.
I walked away a bit confused. Just paid over $6 for a specialty coffee - cannot refill with a regular coffee. If I paid half of that for a regular coffee - I could get a refill. Hmm? You pay more to get less. Interesting policy.

Read moreI've come to the Creek Tower Starbucks at Harrahs Cherokee each morning I've been here and for a $5 coffee the same cashier two mornings in a row "needs" my ID to charge my card. Now typically this wouldn't bother me a bit, but I think she's judging me based on my 7am appearance (which I'll admit- I rolled out of bed for Starbucks as usual). Yesterday, I talked with other employees that said no one at the resort should be IDing you unless it's over $100. I understand Starbucks may have some separate rules from Harrahs and require it- but the lady is not asking everyone for their IDs- I stood around to see today. It's insulting to be treated with less respect than other patrons, especially when we're all here to relax and have a good time.
I'll be going to Cherokee Tower the remainder of my trip in hopes to avoid her and her selective judgment and to recieve the usual great experience I've otherwise known Starbucks to have....
At least the coffee...

I feel like because i was black that they didnt want to serve me i feel they should get some kind of disciplinary action after this they looked at me as if i was a criminal and all i wanted was a cup of coffee.
