Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Palatine Township

Had an awful experience a few weeks ago I wanted to ignore, but another bad experience today proved i cant come back to this location. To start, a few weeks ago i went in to this location on a saturday at lunch time on my break at work. There were a few people waiting for online pick ups, but only one gentleman ahead of me in line. I was quickly able to place my order and saw my meat and cheese prepared on my sandwich, but from there no progress got made. The store seemed to get super busy with more online orders and people coming in behind me, but the manager(perhaps owner, as he's there everytime I've gone) could not handle the business. His decision was to continue to slice meat and bread and make sandwiches that noone was completing. His employees were split managing the grill and the endless online orders, but all he could do was continue to slice meat, while screaming at his employees to get someone to be "sprinkler". It lasted so long that after 20 minutes I had to leave the restaurant with no food as my break was going to be over. I had tried to ignore this situation and give it another shot today, when again, I had an excruciatingly long experience with the man I've now nicknamed Mr. Sprinkles. This time it took several minutes of standing in front of sprinkles and his 2 employees for them to even start taking my order, despite being the only one standing there in front of them. One of them turns to make a sandwich on the grill, and sprinkles finally starts my sandwich. Unfortunately it was a repeat of before as he turns to the guy who has done nothing the entire time and asks him to sprinkle before leaving. I then learn the reason this guy has done nothing is because he's clearly brand new and moving a mile a minute. He took 5 minutes to finish the one sandwich ahead of mine, and even needed assistance cutting the sandwich as he could not do so properly. He also then didnt know what Mike's way meant, and had to check several times for the toppings, which themed up the remainder of my break again, though this time I at least had food I could eat on the drive back to work. It's just unbelievable that the person in charge both cannot handle his own business nor be bother to train his employees. I will continue to eat Jersey Mike's, as it's better than all other sandwich places, but I wont step foot in...

Subs are the best in the business, no question. Everything tastes fresh and high quality. The employees are always professional and willing to accommodate requests. Location is always clean as well.

I did want to share an anecdotal experience I had on Saturday evening 02/22/2025: I placed an order online coming from downtown Palatine, and when I was driving through the parking lot I got t-boned by another driver that ran a stop sign. I had to wait for the police and everything that goes with getting in an accident. However, JM closed in an hour and I wasn't sure that the police would show up and finish documentation in that time while my sub waited me. I called the shop and informed them if the situation hoping for some solution to retrieve my sandwich while still complying with the law. The amazing employee with green hair (I think their name was Natalie?) actually walked my sandwich over to me 3 or 4 parking lots away to give me my sandwich. She wished me well with regards to the accident and went on her way. This level of service in a less than ideal situation really warmed my heart, and provided some sort of solace considering the circumstances. I just left here, got into my car and said wow. $9 was worth the huge sandwich I had. Service was friendly, accurate, quick. No soup here for you, but I wouldn't have been able to finish my meal then. Pretty clean store I'd say for the most part. I did arrive at a really slow time of day, but having been here a few times before and this being my first review, there's never been an issue. Always fast, accurate and friendly. You're paying an extra dollar for a much better sandwich than the other competition. Save your time and money by coming here. The giant sub you'll get here is enough to share if you're one of those cheap consumers out there. Don't let the prices fool you. I assure you that Jersey Mike's will fill that sub without you having to "ask" for extra meat. Keep it up guys!!!!...
