I went to LingonBerry last Tuesday (July 25th, 2023) around 12:45 pm and had a bad experience. For context I am a Hispanic woman and was the only minority there at the time everyone else, at least by appearance, was white. I ordered my Bourbon Caramel Iced Latte (taste was good) and was told that my drink would be called at the end of the counter. I responded by saying "okay, thank you." As I waited, I sat down on one of their couches and got my computer out. Then, one of the girls that worked here delivered a coffee to the guy sitting next to me who had also ordered before me, I didn’t think anything of it at first. Another worker then called my order, and I went to retrieve it. I went back to my seat and about a minute later one of the girls delivered a cup of ice to the table that ordered after me, then a few more minutes passed, and they brought the rest of their order to them. I thought to myself ā€œit must be because they ordered drinks and food.ā€ A few minutes later, they delivered a to go order to someone else’s table. About 10 or 15 minutes passed and a few more people came in, including another minority. He ordered and then the three people after him ordered all appeared white, the staff delivered all drinks to the white people, but called out the for the Asian man’s drink so he could retrieve it. Every single person that looked white got all their things delivered to them, even the people that were sitting outside, the only ones that did not were me, the other minority that came in, and a couple the was standing right next to the counter with a to go order. I generally don’t attribute things to race because there are so many other possibilities, but the micro-aggression at Lingonberry was so blatant. I truly made me very uncomfortable to be there! I addressed the situation with the person in charge and we had a respectful conversation. He listened to my concerns and explained their process of completing orders. He also stated that they have minority staff members, but that to me was a moot point because you can still have and behave with prejudice. He did say that he would be looking at the camera footage from the event to properly address it with his staff, which I appreciated. Even though the conversation was productive, I will not be returning to Lingonberry nor would I...

If you find yourself craving an authentic, homey experience that warms your soul, then Lingonberry Cafe is the spot to be. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with a waft of heavenly aroma that instantly transported me to my grandmother's kitchen.

Their bread, made from scratch every day, is an absolute standout. It's an experience in itself to see the bakers kneading the dough, feeding the sourdough starter, and shaping loaves with an artisanal touch that is quite rare to find these days. The bread here is the epitome of comfort food – crusty on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and imbued with an enticing aroma that's simply irresistible. Each slice speaks of the love and dedication the bakers put into their craft.

The coffee, oh the coffee! It's robust, smooth, and brimming with flavor. The baristas at Lingonberry Cafe certainly know their way around an espresso machine. Whether you're a fan of a classic latte, or prefer your coffee black, you're in for a treat. It's the kind of coffee that warms your hands, your taste buds, and your heart all at once.

The ambiance is cozy, with an earthy decor that complements the cafƩ's homemade ethos perfectly. It's a great place to unwind, catch up with a friend, or just lose yourself in a good book with a cup of coffee and a fresh slice of bread.

In a world that's moving at breakneck speed, Lingonberry Cafe is a delightful reminder of the simple pleasures in life. This is not just a cafƩ, but a sanctuary where you can escape the hustle and bustle and savor the taste of homemade bread and exceptional coffee. A visit here is a warm, comforting hug in culinary form, and I can't...

1st visit (first 3 photos): Saturday 1pm* got the BLT delicious with Japanese mayo type of sauce. 16$ +

*Downfall: people in there on a Saturday treating this place like their office and just on their laptops not eating with a finished coffee. so after waiting 20 minutes and eyeing tables, people don’t care to move along and work somewhere else.

20-30min passed still was not any space indoor or outdoors. the guy who delivered our drink said that we couldn’t sit in front the other restaurant so we didn’t have a choice. We ate in the car at before moving on to a more spacious cafe downtown and got our coffees there.

2nd Visit (4th and 5th photo) is the reason why i had to bump it down to 2 stars. picked up breakfast on my way to work on a Thursday morning and it was pretty terrible. It was the croissant. I had to throw it out because I didn’t know if I was eating peices of plastic with what seemed like a whole avocado (maybe they did that on purpose) Im sure the plastic was the egg white probably overcooked.

I live 3 min from this place and Ive heard friends from wellington who drive 45min to get to this place. To me, it’s Not worth 45 minutes so far. I’ll give it two more chances. skip breakfast though.

Interior design needs updating. Themes are scattered. A bit cluttered and dense. The display shelving on the left have an array of...
