Main Street by The Breakers — Restaurant in Palm Beach

The product selection and cuisine in this store are fantastic. The glaring issue is that the ventilation is abysmal. Everything that enters the store including the merchandise, your hair, and clothes will quickly acquire a putrid scent of stale grease after several moments of occupancy within the establishment. If I am not mistaken, it opened during COVID and perhaps the inspector and Breakers management were wearing N95 masks upon their final walk through of the property, failing to notice the odor. Either way, they need to fix this. This is no way to represent The Breakers, an iconic cultural institution of Palm Beach. Because of my concern, I informed the employee working behind the register. ⭐ Main Street or No Street? The Mystery Continues.

Visited Main Street by The Breakers expecting charm, elegance, and maybe a little Palm Beach magic. Instead, I found myself wandering a ghost town where enthusiasm and service seem to have taken an extended vacation.

The food? Let’s just say I’ve had more exciting meals in my backyard picnic, and that includes the time the ants crashed the party. Portions were tiny—probably to keep you coming back, or because the chef forgot to bring the good stuff.

Service was a mix of robotic politeness and “why are you even here?” vibes. The ambiance? Imagine a waiting room trying to be trendy, but failing spectacularly.

One star because at least the air conditioning...

Good coffee and I had a delicious chocolate croissant. My friend had an egg white sandwich that was yummy. There are a couple of indoor tables and 3 or 4 outside, all full but we sat in the courtyard around a fountain behind the shop. It was very pretty and architecturally pleasing. The shop has lots of unusual kitchen items/appliances for sale in a wide array of colors, like pink mixers, etc. Some very cool stuff in there but on this day it was pretty crowded...
